For many years now it has been easy to close a loan in even just a couple of days. Knowing how to package the loan is important to getting your loan through quickly.
Because I began by processing, moved to underwriting, then to origination and being a producing manager. I feel that I can tell a client based on an application everything they will need to obtain loan approval. If I have questions I have a couple of underwriters in my office that I can run the scenario by. It takes the guesswork out because I do everything in-house. The client can leave my office feeling secure that they will be buying a house, or with a list of goals to accomplish so they can buy down the road a bit.
I'm a very service oriented individual which is beyond important in this critical market we are in. And I have always chosen to work for companies that have in-house underwriting, closing and funding so that my clients can have the best possible service. My company has just had it's warehouse lines doubled because we are doing strong business.
I have 35 years of experience, have had the same processor for 17 years (we'll retire together) and we are a great team with great backup support. We are certainly blessed in these tough times.
Because I started so long ago I sort of cut my teeth on government loans. But for many years we have done little but Conventional loans. So I would says that I do all residential loan products. FHA is coming back now in a big way though so I'm grateful to have that government background.
I truly care about my clients and making their experience a good one so I think caring is the most important expertise.
I also subscribe to the Mortgage Market Guide so I have the market at my fingertips 24/7. I try hard to watch for low rates and lock my clients in at advantageous times.
The market has been very volatile for a year and a half now so I think it's important to watch closely and keep your client informed of what is happening. I try to target a rate with them but I also like folks to know the little difference that 1/8% makes in their payment. Then they do not need to grind their teeth over the small stuff. In the end it will be the great service they remember.
I'm known in Tucson as the lender who can tell you whether or not you can close a deal. If I give you my word, I will stand by it. I really care about my clients and it shows
