Having lived in The Colony since 1984, I've seen the city grow from a Fox and Jacobs development to a full fledged Metroplex subburb. I was brought here inocently by a great Dallas real estate agent who was helping me find something I could afford to buy with more than 400 square feet of living space. We found Sammy in the sales office on Paige and the rest is history. 

At the time, I was working near downtown Dallas doing data entry and trying to find my way into a good career in Data Processing. In 1986 EDS, who had just built a new facility on Carpenter Rd (now know as Legacy Dr.), was on a huge hiring campagn and I jumped at the chance to work crazy hours mounting tapes... in Richardson... It took almost 2 years, but I finally found my way to the new facility and cut my drive time from 45 minutes to 5 (there were no lights out here back then!). The Colony was now no longer a temporary place to park my bed until I could afford to live "in town". We had it all: Wal Mart, Winn Dixie, 7-11 and Pizza Inn. Who could ever want more? 20 some years later, there's little we can't find within 10 miles.

Houses have been a hobby most of my life. I'm an avid do-it-yourselfer, or at least I was when I had time, and I can't pass a model home without stopping to check it out. I NEED to see what it looks like inside and how every mechanical system in it works. It took a long time and a part time career selling appliances for me to realize I could turn my obsession into a career.
