Have you tried Wordpress 3.8? Wordpress just introduced Parker, (named after Charlie Parker, another Jazz musician). It has some nice features and makes for a nice change in appearance. You can pick a color scheme for your dashboard to make it your own style. The widget area has a new way of work...

Have you seen the Wordpress 3.8 yet? It has many new features, including a new way to add widgets, picking the color scheme for your dashboard to get a more personal look, and more mobile responsiveness. I can't wait to try out editing on my iPhone and iPad! It looks like a really good experience...
