On Monday December 3rd. at 5:30 to 7:00pm The University of Idaho Associate Professor Anne Marshall and her Senior Architecture Students will be presenting their concepts for innovative designs for the McKinley business district. For many years the East Side of Tacoma has been the domain of pimp, drug dealers, and lowlifes.   In recent months though, the residents have banded together to reclaim their neighborhoods, and to begin to establish new businesses and to renovate the homes of this area. From a price point the East Tacoma area is one of the most affordable areas in Tacoma. From a housing stock point the homes are working class homes with charm and character.
