Getting a conventional loan for a flipping project can be difficult. The lender will order an appraisal, which will list defects that are found in addition to placing a value on the house. Some are deal killers while others aren't. If the problems are not too bad, the lender may require that money be set aside in escrow to cover the costs of any repairs that may be necessary. A few years ago, new homes in Fort Washington, MD in southern Prince George County flew off the market.  Builders flocked to the area like this was the last area to build on earth.  Buyers stood in line and actually slept outside to put a contract on a home in Fort Washington.   Today, our area new construction projects have come to a halt.  Because of this, Fort Washington Area homes have Good and Bad news.  The Bad news is that most of the people that slept outside in line to put a contract on a home, could not afford the home they purchased.
