Falls in the air on Maui.  Okay we do not have the changing Maple trees like Central Park.  I still see the signs of winter in the air.  I was driving by Hookipa Beach Park on the north shore of Maui this morning.  This is the place I have been surfing for the last 36 years.  Yesterday the ocean was flat and glassy.  I was able to take a coast run on my stand up surfboard.  Today the surf was in the 3ft range and looking pretty good.  This is the official announcement of winter.  We are currently in our slow season before the winter crowd kicks in. This is a great time to visit Maui with the beaches pretty quiet and hotels offering great deals.  So this is the time we prepare for the winter season. KAI MALU IN WAILEA Just south of Kihei in Wailea is my favorite new home community called Kai Malu.  I recently had the opportunity to show buyers this special neighborhood.  Located in the Resort area of Maui in Wailea, this complex had (as of this writing) 22 listings active listings that were available, ranging from 1,149,000. to 2.25 million.  Differences in pricing are based on views and ammenities.   .  . How to effectively sell your home in a slow Maui market!  We all know that the real estate market has really slowed down.  Maui homes for sale are not exempt from this current market. So what can I do to sell my Maui home or condo more effectively?  Pricing your home to current sales in the last six months is really important.  Have your Maui Realtor do a price comparable of homes recently sold.  You might also think about getting an early appraisal.  This will also help all potential buyers get a reality check. In some cases you might price a little under the last sell being the market is still slow and hasn't hit bottom. It is a great time to travel to Maui!  Okay the kids are back in school and summer is winding down.  People are beginning to settle in for the fall season and then on to winter.  Things are pretty quite on Maui right now.  With oil prices coming down you are seeing some pretty good air fares which we have not seen in a while.  The hotels are not as busy as they have been the last 5-years.  If ever you were thinking of coming to Maui this is the time.  Already the winter season it is starting to book up talking to the hotels. Those are very sad events... 4 acre burn off Kenolio Estates in North Kihei and over an other 150 acre near the Maui Meadows.
