MAUI may very well be the Best Island in the World, according to Conde Nast magazine. I'm not going to argue about that.
As one of the Hawaiian neighbor islands, Maui is just a 20 minute plane ride from Oahu, which is the home for Honolulu and Waikiki Beach. Of course you can also fly directly to Maui to our big "city" Kahului. The other islands in Hawaii are: the Big Island (Hawaii); Kauai; Molokai; Lanai. Molokai and Lanai are also part of Maui County.
Maui is a melting pot, with an international and multi-cultural population. In addition to the Polynesians who first came to the islands, you will find many other cultures well rooted here, such as Filipinos, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, Portuguese, Thai, and more. When the sugar and pineapple plantations ruled, migrant workers were brought in to work the fields, and diverse cultures flourished in this welcoming climate. Now that tourism is driving the economy, agriculture has taken a back seat. But the central Pacific location still makes this a perfect place for a cross-cultural community. It's all good.
Maui Hawaii - Visitors come to Maui for many reasons, including family vacations, weddings and honeymoons, golf and sports, and just plain health and wellness.
The Maui Visitors Bureau would like you to have an enjoyable time here in the islands, so please consult with them if you are planning your first trip. They can also help you with accommodations and cars.
If Hawaiian History interests you, be sure to see what the Maui Historical Society has going on with events, tours and projects.
The Maui Arts and Cultural Center is the place to find arts education and events, and our famous film festivals.
Maui has plenty of beaches to suit your activity level. Do you want to get out there and charge the monster waves at JAWS, or do you just want to relax with your toes in the sand?

A quick bio: Born in England, and grew up in the middle of Canada in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Graduated from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver B.C., with a degree in Zoology! Married and moved to Maui in 1980 with my wonderful husband who introduced me to this incredible place called Maui. Experienced living in a few locations like Upcountry and Kihei, and settled on the North Shore in Kuau where we bought our first Maui home in 1981. That was our beach house which we fixed up and eventually sold 22 years later, to continue the dream of living in the countryside. We now live on a farm in Huelo Haiku and have another property in Kailua where my husband ranches and raises organic beef. We live off the grid and love it, producing our own power supply from the sun. Rainwater is harvested and stored. Self sufficiency is a goal we have always worked towards.
As a Maui REALTOR®, I can help others who are looking to start over in a new place like Maui. I will listen to you and answer your questions. Tell me more about what you need and want in a property. I'm listening.

As a long time Maui resident, I know the territory well. I like to specialize in North Shore and Upcountry areas - Spreckelsville, Paia, Kuau, Kailua, Haiku, Makawao, Haliimaile, Pukalani, Kula, Keokea, Ulupalakua and Kanaio. And don't forget the "other upcountry" - Kahakuloa. Single family homes, country estates, oceanfront or vacant land, it's all right here.
I also cover the sunny South shore - Kihei, Maui Meadows, Wailea and Makena .... that's where the condos and resorts are! Some condos I really like are the beachfront ones like Polo Beach Resort, Wailea Ekahi, Makena Surf and Mana Kai on Keawakapu Beach. Whatever you're you looking for, I can help.
We are pioneers. We have built our own homes and created something from nothing. We enjoy a country lifestyle in the rural area of Huelo, Haiku. Haiku is mostly zoned Agricultural, so knowledge about that is important for first time buyers. Off Grid specialist, by experience. I speak HAIKU.
