If someone asks me, I will be more than happy to engage with real estate talk. Otherwise, I'll just enjoy Thanksgiving for one day.

The 24 hours comprising Thursday this week will have nothing to do with business. Before or after the business window is open!

Very possible, considering that I have worked 50% of the time on Thanksgiving day.  But I have to admit working with family members are sometimes harder.

That is so true!  I do see that here, especially in an age-restricted community that is our niche.  There's everything from an elderly parent living alone who shouldn't be (widow or widower), to snowbirds who are now deciding on going back to Home #1, because it's where the adult kiddos live, and for whatever reason (health mainly) they are ready to give up this lifestyle.  Then of course, there are those that have finally decided to stop renting, to dive in and purchase that home because they do love the desert, to those that have vacationed here with relatives, and are now finally retiring themselves.  So, you are correct Andrew Mooers, in that folks do think Real Estate over the Holidays!

Funny you should say that, I showed condos to a grandmother of one of my past clients who is in for Thanksgiving. I believe I will have a future sale.

People gather and discuss family items - including the state of the home. There are always opportunities in any given situation.

I do love the holidays just for that reason. It is a great time for family and friends family looking to buy or sell to hit me for free advice and i can sign them up

I'm always ready to answer a quick question, but I would not bore everyone with a long conversation during holiday dinner. I'd rather politely but very enthusiastically offer to meet a next day or whatever works for that person and discuss their needs or questions in details.

We had a gathering of 18, and one person approached me to talk real estate, she wants to list her home and downsize.

Motivated buyers and sellers are are in the get moving process all year round. If we think things will be slow ... they will be.  When we know there is opportunity ... there is.

That would not work with my family.

1. Many are brokers. 

2. I'd never want to vacation with most of them .

How does someone manage to capitalize the first letter of every word in an entire paragraph? That's the kind of stuff that keeps me up at night.
