I am not a sports-fan, so football season means nothing to me (other than having to schedule open-houses around big games).

Absolutely!  There are plenty of folks out there that are not football fans.  Plus, in my hot market, no time can be lost when a listing hits...you have to see it immediately to have a chance at presenting an offer!

I always tell buyers: 1. Sure, just call my bride and ask her if its OK. and 2. I'm happy to work Sundays if she says "yes", I'm $150/hr rate, 3hr minimum or... if they want to wait, no fee Mon-Sat. I have not worked a Sunday since 2005 as a Realtor, (I did perform a gig here & there on Sundays back in the day, but that was fun, fun, fun)!
