Get to Know Christopher Farrell
My firm's connection to Florida goes back almost 20 years. My wife and I married a year after high school and there was no question where our honeymoon was going to be; Disney World. She was enrolled in University of Florida (yes, we're Gator fans) and I was between deployments with the Marine Corps. When we were stationed in Louisiana we visited Florida as often as we could. When we left the Corps we returned to where we fell in love - Houston, Texas.
Many trips to Florida followed. And always on the trip home one of us would say, "I wonder if we could move to Florida?" Well, after having two amazing children, surviving Enron and years stuck in traffic that the entire state of Florida could never produce - we moved. And never looked back. We've since visited Houston - but we've never said "I wonder.... ."

Certifications
I believe it's difficult to claim expertise in virtually anything. If I did make such a claim, I would have to claim myself an expert in learning. I don't know everything about anything - and I hope never to, but I never stop learning. My firm's greatest strengths would be determination, focus and efficiency. But preparation is key to any mortgage broker success; you ask the right questions, get all the information and follow through as if you and your client's life depended on it.
Before I moved my company into the mortgage broker field, I dealt exclusively with foreclosures. So I may be an expert in foreclosures. I can say this with authority, a home owner who is losing his home and doesn't know what's going to happen next poses a completely different set of challenges than a buyer who's late to his own closing. I have learned an enormous amount about mortgages, real estate law, bankruptcy and the legal acquisition of property from the foreclosure aspect, but I don't know everything.
