Get to Know Betty Glover

Hi,

I am Betty Glover and have been a Realtor since 1993.  I guess I sort of evolved into a Realtor throughout my years of other "careers".  I am the wife of a retired  Army MSG .  Of course, we have done our share of relocating throughout his career.  I followed, as good Army wives do, and tried to work somewhere around his duty stations and raise 2 sons and go to college in between.

I have been a medic, a military records administrator, military personnel post clearance coordinator, contract administrator, office manager and a few other things in between.  Somehow, I got my degree and raised two wonderful sons.

All the while, my hobby was stalking open houses on Saturdays and Sundays.  I poured over the homes sections of the classified sections of the newspapers and picked up every homes magazine I found just for fun!

When my husband made his last move to Temple, Texas before retirement, we bought a home.  I did not know anything about what we were signing and we ended up with a home that flooded and a septic system that did not work when it rained, which it did alot of for two years.  I fixed our problems and decided that this would never happen to me again or anyone I knew.  I took the real estate classes to educate myself and found myself.

I love to represent first time homebuyers.  When I bought my first home there was no such thing as "Buyer's Representation". Everyone represented the seller.  I took every class I could, atttended every educational seminar, attended conferences and continued to learn.

I spent five years as a Relocation Director and earned my Certified Relocation Professional certificaton and in 2006 became a Real Estate Broker.  I continue to learn how to best represent my clients, whether they are buyer or seller.  Real Estate is my career, my hobby, me.

Certifications

After spending 15 years in the real estate market I am confident in my abilities to represent clients fully and knowledgeably.

I am a Certified Buyer's Representative (CRP), have completed the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), spent five years as a Relocation Director and earned my Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designation.  In 2006 I completed my studies and passed my Broker's exam and am now a Real Estate Broker.

The Central Texas market is a unique one in that we use many different types of financing.  Ft. Hood supplies us with many opportunities to become knowledgeable with VA and Texas Vet loans.  We also have many people who have not been in the military and are first time home buyers and need a FHA loan.  We also have two hospitals, several physician programs offered, teacher programs, city bond money, USDA loans, foreclosure programs, etc.

I cannot say I have done it all because there is always a new way to do things, more to learn.  But, I am experienced!  Today's market is challenging to us all.  Buyer's and Seller's are wary and unsure of what to do.  Lender's are strict, appraisers are careful.  We are all treading into new territories with  selling, lending and trying to stem the flood of foreclosures.  There is new information about real estate every day.  Realtors receive a steady stream of it daily.

I am here to help educate the consumer.
