Fundraiser will benefit the OPUS Chamber Choir, a select group of approx. 25 vocalists performing a wide variety of choral literature, ranging from sixteenth century madrigals to contemporary music. The proceeds of the fundraiser will go towards the costs of the choir's tour to Italy in March of 2010.  Hiway, our rescued kitty, was found right off the highway and was just a few weeks old when my husband brought her home. My husband is a die-hard NASCAR fan and when he turns on the races, Hiway jumps up and watches the cars race around the track! Perhaps she likes the sound of engines racing or just the bright images of the cars as they move through the screen. I was having a hectic day when I hurriedly answered the phone and intended to say, "Can I put you on hold?" instead I said "Can I hold you?" There was a moment of silence and before I could correct myself, the man answered "Well, my wife probably wouldn't like that." I said, "My husband wouldn't like it either!" And we both just started laughing! Years ago, I would have been extremely embarrassed by such a blurt but now it feels better to just laugh and take it in stride!   09/18/2009

Then she yells out, "Was I going up the stairs or down?" The 92-year-old is sitting at the kitchen table having tea and listening to her sisters. I just want to say, a great big "THANK YOU!" to Bob Stewart for helping me with a Localism issue that I have had for quite some time. I finally acted on it. My issue, not ActiveRain's. Not only was Bob helpful but his easygoing demeanor and willingness to help me shined through! I am thoroughly impressed with the staff here on ActiveRain due to the fact they act quickly to resolve problems as they arise and take care of us. Thankful Thursdays: Time Well Spent! What am I thankful for? I'M THANKFUL FOR...Time well spent with my family away from phones, the internet and deadlines.The freedom to go fishing, boating, camping or to do all three at the same time!Horseshoes, yes, horseshoes.
