One of the things I've found that excites people the most about buying a home in Sugar Land, TX, is how far their dollars go. No matter what price range you're looking at, you get much more for your money in Sugar Land than in other parts of the country because the Sugar Land housing costs are so reasonable. Did you know that Sugar Land has one of the lowest property tax rates in Texas?  Yet another reason why you should move to Sugar Land. The Texas Municipal League conducted a survey of 657 Texas cities. When comparing cities with populations greater than 25,000, Sugar Land's tax rate of 30.895 cents is the lowest in Texas. When I represent buyers, I always recommend that they purchase a brand new land survey.  Here's why. A land surveyor is only liable to the person who purchased the survey. If an existing survey is used and errors are detected in the future, the new homeowner has no legal recourse against the surveyor for any mistakes. Purchasing a brand new survey is for the buyers' own protection. It usually costs around $400. A land survey is required before title is transferred to the new owner except for a cash sale. Brick Repairs Needed in Sugar Land Area   Before a home owner puts a brick home on the market to sell in the Sugar Land TX area, a thorough inspection on the exterior of the home should be performed. All the walls should be checked for cracks along mortar lines and brick. The lintels above windows and doors should be checked for rust. Make sure that you look behind hard-to-see areas covered with bushes as well.
