Shasta Market Summary Home Sales ,November 26, 2011, are matching numerous national trends as inventories decline. The positive news of increasing home sales continues to hold true. Fortunately the media's negative speculation regarding the shadow inventory causing inventories to balloon has not materialized. Current Shasta MLS raw data reports 1,057 homes listed for sale representing a 5.3 months supply. 2,154 homes have sold year-to-date, 2011, versus 1,875 homes sold for the same period last year. A 3 to 6 month supply is considered balanced between a Seller and Buyer's market. Real Estate Market forecasters are challenged as some watch the "shadows" and and others report the bright spots. As I walked into the courtyard I noticed a small puddle of water. The puddle was very still and mirror like. It reflected the tall trees of our garden. It was a moment of silent contemplation of the beauty of this small puddle of water when I noticed there was a very small frog in the puddle. He was ever so small and hardly noticeable at all. The frog was brown with little spots of black and green splotches. He sat motionless and it occurred to me that he was one with the silence of the puddle. Both of such a still nature reflecting life all around them in silence. I enjoyed my time with the puddle and the frog. I entered the house to continue with my day. The North State is known for the town and the Majestic Mount Shasta. It is a striking and beautiful mountain. As part of the Cascade Range, this Majestic Mountain lays claim to a vast and beautiful area. Long known to be a powerful spiritual and healing place, people have journeyed to visit the Mountain to heal, pray and worship in organic and beautiful ways. Knowing When To Buy & Sell in today's real estate market can make for challenging decision making. Much of today's real estate market reports appear based or short term current events. The natural tendency to focus on the issues at hand has brought forth little long term investment forecasting information. We spent six weeks visiting India at the end of 2005. We had just relocated to the North State. We had been in Monterey County in Salinas selling real estate for Norm Yop in his Monte Bella office. We hated to leave but I knew that the market would adjust and we wanted to be near the wilderness areas. Realtors find it hard to disappear for 2 months and so I knew that in transitioning markets that we had a opportunity to take a long dreamed of trip to India. She's looking at me strangely now and again because there is a slightly different rythem going on since David is not here.
