Happy house hunting home buyers :) CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — For the fifth week in a row, rates on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged at or below 4%, according to Freddie Mac’s weekly survey of conforming mortgage rates, released on Thursday. The 30-year mortgage averaged 4% for the week ending Dec. 1, up slightly from 3.98% last week. The mortgage averaged 4.46% a year ago. Fifteen-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 3.3%, unchanged from last week and down from 3.81% a year ago. Meanwhile, rates on adjustable-rate mortgages fell to record lows this week. What are you doing this evening on the 4th of July? Probably watching fire works, eating a lot and spending time with friends.  My 4th of July tradition includes all of these while watching firewords on the beach.  Except the fireworks for Marina del Rey beach have been canceled?!.  I'm so disappointed!!  I loved watching fireworks on the beach.  It's so beautiful with the ocean as a back drop.  Enough compaining, we are going to try a new fireworks spot.    The new spot is at Pacific Palisades High.  There is a concert of songs and sing alongs.  Band starts at 6:30pm and Fireworks 9:00pm.  I love this neighborhood too.  I'm sure it will be fun and beautiful.  However, if Marina del Rey decides to do fireworks next year--I'm in!  What are you doing to celebrate the 4th?     07/04/2011

Open houses are buzzing with buyers in the Palisades, which is not the case in all communities. According to a recent Coldwell Banker ranking of North America's most expensive and most affordable housing markets, Pacific Palisades is the second most expensive market in the U.S. with an average property listing price of $1.6 million.
