Today is supposed to be a beautiful day so I am going to go out to Encinitas to take some more pictures and enjoy the gardens at the Swami Beach location and then later check out the Grunion Run. I had my day on Torry Pines south this week....ok it kicked my butt! The sunset was so beautiful and I got some awesome pictures. There is nothing like the fresh air, ocean views, smell of freshly cut grass, and the multi color sunset. I spent the afternoon enjoying La Jolla yesteray. I went to see my hairdresser in La Jolla Shores and it was such a beautiful day I decided to take pictures. I walked down to Scripps Pier on the beach and then walked back past La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. I ate lunch at the local deli and enjoyed the sunshine sitting outside working on my laptop! Ahhh, this is why I moved here from Dallas 11 years ago! I met a friend for happy hour at The Spot on Prospect St. and took some pictures in front of Jose's and bought a book at Warwick's on Girard. It was about 3:40 today and my Fiance and I were watching National Lampoon's Vacation (when the dead Grandma was dropped off) and we felt a rumbling! The house felt like is was swaying and I have a one story home in La Jolla. I was more focused on the movie and Bill (he just moved here from Dallas last July) looked at me and said "I think we are having a earthquake". I thought the dogs were chasing the cat under the bed but we kept moving!!! It was like a roll instead of a rock. The earthquake lasted for about 30 seconds, this is the strongest one I have felt in the 11 years I have lived here in La Jolla. My neighbor who has lived in my neighborhood since 1969 came out and said it was the strongest one he has ever felt. I'm thinking about calling State Farm tomorrow to add earthquake in... 04/04/2010

*****News Flash***** We felt the earth move around 3:40 pm today and Happy Easter! It is all good and only the third one I have felt in 11 years, but the strongest!!!! We spent our Easter morning going to the 61st sunrise service in Point Loma at the Cabrillo Monument at 6:30am. It was chilly but a beautiful spot put on by the U.S. Navy and the Kiwanis Club of Point Loma. Afterwards we went to have brunch in Coronado and had a blast. I had to meet up with a client yesterday in La Jolla to sign a counter offer. I decided to take the scenic route home along La Jolla Shores and ujp the hill past the Scripps Oceanography Institute. The views are spectacular. I thought these trees were particularly interesting given their unique shape and the brilliant red flowers. I have no clue what they are - any ideas? I was up early this morning and noticed that you could still see the moon at dawn. It was so beautiful! I had to take pictures and share. At night when it is a full moon you can see the reflection off of the water creating slight glow. Here are the pictures I took this morning. Again, I apologize for them being so fuzzy, but you will see what I mean with the moon. By the way, I figured out why they were blurry (besides taking them with a cell phone)!
