Have you heard of Waymo? Well, I have seen them around for quite a while. I initially, I thought they were the Google Mapping cars. The more I saw them, the more I realized that they were not the Google Mapping cars. Instead, they were like a Taxi, or a Limo or an Uber transportation vehicle.Last three days everywhere I was going, I kept running into these vehicles. I was intrigued.A few things caught my eye.  Some of which I have been complaining to Diane for the past five years or so, that the new cars, must not have signal lights as far as turning left or right. Seriously, I found it always annoying, because for conservative drivers you have to wonder are they going straightforward? Welcome to August clients and friends.  August, typically a busy real estate month when buyers and sellers choose to move before the new school year begins. However, due to high interest rates and increased cost of living expenses, this August sees fewer buyers and sellers than in previous years. Wordless Wednesdays: Holly is on new food, thanks to Diane always trying to do the best.... Holly has some skin issues, so the Vet suggested a food change... Needless to say breakfast takes now 30 minutes to eat.Lunch takes about 45 minutes to eat.Dinner takes about an hour to eat. You might say WHY? Holly is not excited about her new food, and it takes a great deal of coaxing.  My suggestion was tough love like my parents did. When I did not eat something, it was served to me at lunch, dinner and breakfast, let's be clear by the second day I was looking forward to eating the same crapola:) So do you agree with me about tough love? 'The Odessa File' by Frederick Forsyth: a book review by Endre Barath, Jr. a Beverly Hills Realtor.The Odessa Files has been on my 'To Read Shelf' since 2003, and I'm thrilled to say that I finally read it.  It was published in 1972 and has been on my must-read list since then. I have always been a fan of Frederick Forsyth and obviously I was way overdue in reading this excellent book, especially since I am also a history buff and know about Odessa.  As I was reading, it was hard for me to keep in mind that this book is a novel.  Forsyth writes this page turner as if it was nonfiction and you cannot help but continue reading. Diane and I have a private joke, that I work for Taxes, the Vets, food and wine.... there are times I do referrals other times I just work for wine. I fly my flag proudly and celebrate and thank those 156,000 Allied troops that landed by sea on five beaches.The code names were: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword. At the same time these soldiers landed on the beach many parachuted behind the German defensive liens.Sadly about 4,500 of these brave soldiers were killed on D-Day and another 5,800 were wounded or went missing.All I can say is thank you to those brave soldiers who landed and fought hard and thank you to those ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice, their lives.There are still about 200 of these brave men alive, I am grateful and proud of them. I proudly fly the American Flag, my flag for these brave men.Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Throwback Thursdays: Meeting John Le Carre' the year was 2008...I saw the movie " The Spy who came in from the Cold" I had to read the book. Next thing you know is I was hooked. Every Le Carre' book that was published I had to have, and I bought them. In fairness to disclosure did not read all of them but bought them to read them as time permitted.Then he published "A most wanted man" in 2008 and much to my excitement he did a book signing tour and came to Los Angeles.Diane and I loaded up all my books about 15 or more at the time.
