Not enough, I keep track of conversations vs time spent calling.  

You should keep track of your goal. If it's 2 hours & you're not making your goal then up it to 3, etc.

Lead generation. That is the intent of EVERY action an agent takes. Lead generation is a 24/7 activity.

However, that lead needs to become a conversion, then a client then a past client. There are many ways to do this. One is to call.

No more than 2 hours a day should be spent calling 'haven't mets.' 

The 3rd hour is the call you A and B list of past clients.

But, it is smart to understand that such 'outbound' and intrusive marketing is truly old school. Adopting 'inbound' strategies is a much better solution.

PS: Inbound has NOTHING to do with the inbox.

I try to keep it to 15 minutes a day. That way I do not get burned out and I have time to enjoy life! I am not tied down and I have ample time for my clients! 

In my free time, or in the car while driving! 

About an hour or more each day.

Yes, ideally, it is few hours a day. But since i do not do cold calling, I just checking with my database via texts/emails/occasional calls, so it is 1 hour/day just to follow up.

I set aside atleast 1 hour daily for lead generation.  That includes staying in touch with past clients, and marketing.  

2-3 hours every day could be more if there is new promotion from our bank.

Here's a crazy answer... I DON'T!!!  I work mainly with investors selling their properties and servicing my sphere and past clients.  No need to lead gen/cold call/door knock/etc. as I have a steady stream of business.

2 hours 5 days per week

   First thing in the morning:  "How can I get face to face with a new seller or a new buyer today?"  Then make it happen.

that's the focus of my day.... and most of it is done offline.... i.e., mailed to land owners and the postcards landed in one town on wed.... 2 calls already....

You can lead gen in a number of ways, not just cold calling

I do not refer to what I do daily as "lead generation" as it is defined by making calls.  I send marketing letters and follow up with a call a week later. I do not "cold call" to lead generate.

Lately 0.  I've had some repeat customers and referral customers that have kep me busy so far this year. 

If they spend 3 hours a day they are able to get a few appointments set up.

These are often top producers.

Each commission check.  50% my checking account.  20% savings for taxes and travel.  10% for marketing and lead generation.  20% savings.

Calling strangers can be a complete waste of time and really beat up on yourself hearing no or click for 3 hours. There is more productive ways to generate leads

I block 3 hours a day for prospecting - but, not to chat with strangers!

I have never in 25 years cold-called and am not about to start now. There are other ways of generating leads and I make time for that as it fits my schedule.
