John, as a small child, we lived in Williamsburg, which I think is east of Dawson Springs. It's on the Cumberland River and just a beautiful part of the world. I went there a few years ago on a road trip and stayed in a pretty B&B. And I'll bet you can find one around Dawson Springs.

I have heard of Dawson Springs and generally know where it is but have not been there. Explore the possibility of a bed and breakfast. They can provide a very pleasant experience as the owners are knowledgeable about the history of the areas.
