Not really and yet we do need a better idea for this.  

My website company offers text messaging. Similar to FUB, it uses a designated number. However, the text still comes to my phone and is recorded within the CRM offered through my website. I love that prospects have a totally different phone number to text me but I also have that text saved somewhere other than my phone.

iMessage uses the same phone number across all devices and allows a saved file of text messages for each conversation

When I have a text I want to keep I forward it to myself or take a photo of it with my camera.

No good or easy way ... the one's I need to capture I simply type into my call log notes.

No I don't have a good system

I'd suggest backing up your texts and then loading the backup file into the system.

Hello John.  From the responses obviously a good question.  Has remained a source of frustration for me for a long time.  Sure seems one should be able to copy a complete thread for a specific file.  I will research some of the answers here.  mark

I have to say this would be a great blog post topic to write about

I can print my text messages through my MightyText application to pdf and save them in my client's file and then move them to their file on Evernote.

I take a photo of the text which is not very efficient, but works for me now. Will be researching better ways to organize the information.

Is it possible to 'cc' text messages?

John Mosier - in CRM, I doubt. Though looking at some other answers - Google Voice may be a solution.

Heard LIONDESK does that, too - not sure about that.

I move my FUB leads to TP each week and love the text message and email capabilities.  It also logs those phone calls from the tracking number too!  It's a hefty system, for sure!  

The only reason I move the leads is to accurately log them and love the f/u with Top Producer with market reports, color marketing, etc.

I love seeing all the responses ... I learn so much on Active Rain.

Mine has a clendar and scheduler to remind or post future check ins.

I use Google voice for all of my business numbers, all texts are automatically logged in, and voice messages are transcribed and recorded on my computer too.

I wonder if Follow Up Boss has a way to forward them to email?  Just an idea.

The outfit that maintains my site does it for me.
