The first thing I did was celebrate with champagne!! 

What I wish I'd done differently?  I wish I'd been able to think bigger, better and expand my horizons quicker.

I can't remember going back 25 years.

1. I held my 2 year old high and danced with him when the license came in the mail that morning. 2. I went to Sears and bought 3 suits and six shirts & ties. 3. Went out to dinner with my (then) wife and celebrated the last day of my "so called normal life." 

Differently: nothing, I have to say I joined Brian Buffini's coaching in the first 6 months of my career and that was the smartest thing I ever did, so early in my career, 17 years ago. Maybe I wish I implemented what I've learned faster.

I was happy to to be licensed.

I went with a small company and was glad for it - I had a great broker who was a wonderful mentor and supportive

after 38 years, I would not have changed one thing....my business and how I approached and orchestrated it resulted in the perfect method of exiting the profession....and entering a more relaxed sector of the business....and one with the flexibility to work from anywhere and at anytime.... yet, continue to make a very healthy income....

Went out to lunch, called my broker, listed a house on the way home!

i got my license, cut off my shoulder length hair, and sold 3 open houses in a row my first 3 weekends.  It was a big change.

I wish I'd gotten a new car sooner, I really only remember getting my new business cards and rider signs right away.

I would talk to more people more often

James Hoff - I missed coaching then! Though I still attended all possible training and learned the tricks of the trade, along with calling friends and family. Though it was a word of mouth business then.

I would do things differently.

When I finished my exam and took it the proctor after about 45 minutes - he asked me "giving up?".  I told him I finished it quickly, rechecked my answers three times and sat there for a few minutes looking around at the other students.    He gave me "one of those looks" and said you'll get the results in six-to-eight weeks --- I found out I passed a few days later.   

First thing -- I called a couple of people.   I don't remember much more than that.  

As far as doing the same or changing an approach -- the past is over....

I would change everything. I would now figure out the entire world was lying to me about my outcome/progress.  I didn't set goals at first, neither did anyone else BTW.  I would hire a coach & then if I didn't do well in a year, I'd be outta there.

I could scream when I think of some of the things we used to do. Very time in-efficient but that's how things were done.  I was selling prior to computer MLS's BTW.

Mailed out a note to all my friends (I would email now, faster)

I would of got a better broker like I am now

1. Walked tall with head up

2. Wanted to put it to work

3. Realized it was just the beginning of a long journey to be

I saw how vicious sales were so I got into property management where there was no competition, lots of opportunity & got me going onto loans, appraisals, some sales & even lending. Once broken in, all was possible

Got my first license to supplement my income through part-time endeavors. Would have gone full-time looking back!

I wrote a business plan, I set up a data base, I started calling everyone I knew to let them know I was now in real estate.

1. Got back in the limo

2. Continued on to the airport

3. Got on the umpteenth flight for corporate of the year

Celebrations had to wait for the following weekend...

I do not remember.
