Updates are plentiful.  The real question in my opinion is : are they being read?  Happy Tuesday.  A

We get weekly updates on the latest RE laws and issues emailed to us from our local association.

CAR's legal monthly email.  Non-smoking properties do not allow for vape or medical MJ usage inside the home.  They are both smoking.  Pot, is STILL A FEDERALLY CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE and regardless of what our hippie state says possession is still illegal.  Going into my future contracts (because I didn't think of it in time for this round) I'll be putting that "possession or manufacture of a controlled substance or the commission of any felony on the premisis is grounds for immediate termination of rental agreement and forefiture of security deposit and reporting to the proper authorities."  In other words, if you start raping people or killing kids or torturing animals or smoking the refer/crack pipe or shooting/selling/making meth, I have grounds to protect my investment/livlihood.

I think some of the drug production stuff might be in the actual CAR contract.

I'm also in California and look for legal updates from the state and local boards as well as our broker.   

There is an abundance of information out there like Inman News, RisMedia and Active Rain, to name three.

I'm in CA too, i have a legal app on my iphone and take their emails and webinars with updates. 

Weekly board meetings keeps me informed to the newest and latest.

I belong to the IL Assn email that tells us the newest stuff. Also tells about the people that were reprimanded. I'm sure they have a newsletter that comes every couple of weeks.

Besides, CAR just got emoji's so I'm sure they have something.

In Texas, The Texas Association of REALTORS® and The Texas Real Estate commission do an excellent job of keeping us informed as to recent changes.

We have a great state web site that has everything there including updates.

Our local Board of Realtors is always adding classes, including market and legal updates to its list of offerings. In addition, I read state association publications and my office holds legal update seminars.

We do regularly visit the CAR site and our NSDCAR keeps up updated.

In Florida, the  Sarasota Manatee Association of Realtors keeps us informed.

Emails from AAR Legal Counsel...

In the 3-hour required annual CE class.

For state and county legal updates our Board emails a weekly summary.

At our weekly business meetings - the title attorneys at Counselor's Title do presentations and Q&A's. 

Lots of reading from Dora and REcolorado.  Then local Board.

I look to my state association newsletter and my local association news alerts.

I read it. We have two lawyers in the office.

Annually I buy the Red Book by Seth Weiseman.  It is specific to Georgia real estate case law.

Hi Cody - While we're required to take annual update classes, it still pays to read the news and pay attention to what's going on. And AR certainly helps with that.
