Good grief, is all I can say, Carol. I have not seen this, but then again I don't subscribe to much but Vanity Fair... and I don't think they are giving up their covers for ads.

Felt the same way tuning into the race last Sunday. Most of the time it was a split screen. The small one was the race and the big one was a constant flury of ads. It was a turn off, so I turned it off!

Carol Williams - the magazines that give prominence to other brand than their own - may not last long - just my two cents.

Magazines are not selling in the numbers they once did. Ads on the cover won't help change the downward trend. 

I used to take butterflies and blooms because it had NO ads.  When they caved, I didn't renew.  Haven't read a magazine in years.

I have not seen that yet but it would definitely put me off.

I use AdBlockers on the internet.  I threw away the TV sets, largely because of all the advertisements.  Magazines like that will go in the round file.

Old school advertising works but for how long, where, when and why. The Internet, smart phones etc. are crowding into everything successfully

Carol Williams Magazine covers are filled now with advertising what is inside of the magazine. Advertising commercial products would even take up more space. Don't advertisers have enough ads and inserts inside of the magazines?

My latest edition of Men's Health did that with Listerine.  Had to do a double take to see what was going on.

I've seen a few. Advertising makes money!

Magazines are struggling and the ads are the only thing keeping them going. I guess they are trying to use every possible place to get a better return.
