An incorrect account was created, meaning I now have two linkedin profiles. They will not delete the bogus one. For that reason I quit linkedin years ago.
They should understand the little stuff DOES matter.

Good morning Jeff. I post to Linkedin everyday and in 2015 I did 16 mortgages as a result of being on there, so it has definitely been a benefit for me.

I wouldn't "miss" them.
Beyond linking AR posts there and receiving annoying updates, I don't use LinkedIn although I believe Joe Petrowsky and others have written many positive posts about LI.
Stephanie & John Webb
I do not do much on LinkedIn, but have a profile.
I never use LinkedIn, but my understanding is that it's pretty important to the younger set. Our 23 year old daughter uses it to screen candidates for jobs and to network with others in her field.
I wouldn't miss it and often question being part of it...
Jeff Pearl I do not use LinkedIn as much. I love being connected with people here on AR - that's my linkedin,.
had no idea it was a publically traded company
I have been working to rebuild my LinkedIn presence. I don't think they will go bankrupt, but they need to change... something. Not sure exactly what.
Not sure I would miss them although I have a presence there
Yes I would miss it.
They would be far better if they found a better way to monetize than trying to get a few zealots to overpay to compensate for the majority who learned long ago that effective social media must be free.
Other than 300-400 contacts, i dont really get any benefit from it, so i would be fine
Hi Jeff I wouldn't miss twitter or linkedin. Both agitate me
Missed no. I really don't know what to do for them
I saw that in the WSJ feed we get. We have benefited from a couple of clients by being there. What is weird about that is that they just bought Lynda.com for a billion dollars. This is an educational video subscription model, that was doing very well. A
I wouldn't miss it. I hardly use it other than posting blogs.
I wouldn't miss it if it were gone.
I would not miss them at all.
Jeff- while I'm signed up and on LinkedIn, I don't go there anymore.
I would not miss them even though I have a presence on LinkedIn.
Jeff, what would cause a 40% drop in LI stock in one day? That is a huge red flag for any company.
We use LI when looking for talent.
I like Linkedin. If it disappeared it would be sad but would change my life at all.
I would not miss it. I hardly ever log in.
LinkedIn is much more business like so to speak with more than just realtors so you can reach all types of people. In some of the groups, there are agents that just talk about the same stuff over & over. Makes you wonder if they're all over 90!
I don't think it's confusing at all. I will be posting their more regularly this year now that I'm using Hootsuite.
Now they let you set up a blog like Joe Petrowsky does so it could be more beneficial. He's used it very well over 2015. He's being modest below.
I have an account but go through spurts of activity on LinkedIn. I have not found it to be useful so far, but as I am connected to past clients, I hope it helps keeps me in their minds when I post. I have made many good networking connections through it.
I don't really use it. It is just another presense on the internet for me. I don't know if my blogs do better here or on LinkedIn.
LI is good for what it's good for. They really don't compete with 'social' SM sites. It's a good way to find people in business you want to find. In fact, FB, AR, Twitter, G+ etc all have separate pros and cons, and a place in social media and business if you use them for their strengths and don't try to reinvent them in an image they weren't designed for (or evolved into).
That was a reverse Monster.com for HR managers to look for resumes.
It is supposed to get rid of head hunter profession all together. Unfortunately, technology can not replace head hunter. We have an ex-Linkedin guy in RE. He teaches about social media for a fee. I found out his contacts is all from SOI coming from a huge family and personal friends. All his contacts are professionals looking for 1st time homes. The Linkedin is basically BS not what it meant to be.....
The employees in MV is next to Goog. 15,000 of them all overpaid in my opinion. It should be a company with <1,000 employees.
It is surely not my favorite site to use.
Jeff Pearl I saw where they are discontinuing the LinkedIn connections app on March 31, 2016. I don't find them very useful.
I don't see them changing and becoming more current. If they went bankrupt some other site would likely buy they up for a song and it would take on new meaning. Everyone seems to think of it as a way to put your resume out there for a job and if you aren't in the market it isn't as relevant.
I dumped it long ago....
I connect with LinkedIn daily, but its "mission" is a bit confusing. I know that they are having great touble competing against FB for advertising dollars.
It is not my go to site !
Am a member, but seldom use it. So if it went away, so be it!
I can't easily find my or my connection's recent updates. I would love to be able to easily see those and comment.
Overall, the site is less interactive.
I also wonder if it would help (or hurt them) if they displayed actual # of connections over 500+...or at least create 1000+, 2000+ etc.
