It depends on the client's preference. Funny, clients don't tend to ask me my preferences, which I think is normal because I'm the service provider.
During a transaction, some clients text me around 6:00 AM and sometimes even earlier. Other clients have sent texts just shy of midnight.
I know, I need to turn my phone or at least the sound off.

I set those boundaries in the first meeting. I try my hardest to not EVER call people but if necessary, I would I try to never call prior to 11am. Mornings and their rituals are sacred!

It varies with each client and their schedule. I'm finding myself texing more these days than calling.

Agreed, Paul. I was raised not to call anyone who isn't family or very close friend before 9am and after 7pm. This was so ingrained in me, I still can't do it, unless I have a client with whom I've made arrangements to speak outside of those hours. I'm also an early morning person and fully awake and working, but I will admit that I don't want anyone bothering me much before 8:30am by phone.

It is 9 a.m. unless otherwise specified, I do ask them during the listing appointment what is their earliest (because I get up at 5) and lastest that I can call them.

Paul S. Henderson, Realtor, Tacoma Washington that's one thing I need to get better at! It's never a specific time for me - should time block for sure.

I'm a 9AM to 9PM man. Showing begin at 10AM if at all possible. Some clients need earlier. I work late so give myself time to have coffee and enjoy the morning with my wife.

9 is also my time to call. I don't call any earlier than that unless I know the client would prefer it earlier.

Paul,
That sounds good to me. Of course, in my opinion it is best to set up times prior to actually call people. We have very early risers on the East Coast 6AM, and we are willing to call them at 6 AM our time. Europe we call at 8AM, and it is 5PM, there. We work it out. A

It depends on the client, I know some are out and about at 5am, so I will call them if needed.

I agree with the 9 o'clock unless you know otherwise. This helps not only for clients, but for us as well. I had to set some boundaries so I won't get calls anytime the client chooses to call. If they know they can reach me at 6 o'clock in the morning, that's not good for me.

Hi Paul, 9:00 is a good basis, but sometimes if there is some urgency I might shoot an email or text over asking them to call me when they can if it's earlier than that.

Not before 9:00 week days. 10:00 on Saturdays. I try not to call on Sunday but, if I do, not until after noon... after church. There are exceptions, of course.

Each client is different. I have some on the East Coast, some work nights, and others have a normal schedule.

9 or 10 am their time, unless they specify a different time (prior to 5pm my time).

Paul,
That is one of the things I try to figure out early on, how early can I call. I don’t want them waiting on me but don’t want to call too early.

Paul S. Henderson, Realtor, Tacoma Washington I agree with 9:00 a.m., it give everyone an opportunity to get their day started.

Most of the time I adhere to about 9-9:30 time frame. Although I have one client, former military, that enjoys lively and spirited conversation at about 8:00AM.

Typically my COO return & proactive call hours are 8:30 am, 11:00 am 1:00 pm and before close. My CEO Power Hours for calls& lead generation, e-mails & notes is 9:00 am - 11:00am.
I do have East Coast Clients and military overseas, so I have had many calls at 6 am-8 am when scheduled a head of time. So client needs & preferences apply and I need to be flexible.

I think the National calling laws are 8am - 9pm ??? This is my time frame .

I always wait until 9am unless the client has told me i can call earlier

Just like you I don't call before 9 am.
HOWEVER....
I do slydial (to deliver message) and text (I'm calling at 9) citizens before that time. Other professionals 8 am.

Paul S. Henderson, Realtor, Tacoma Washington great question!
It depends on who I am calling...
I was taught from my early days working at Bear Stearns that business starts at 7 am eastern time. So I have no problem calling business associates and contractors anytime after 7.
That said, most banks and title companies in my area are not in the office until 8:30 or 9 so they may not be able to assist me with answers until they get to the office..... As for customers, those calls will wait until after 8am.
