Neither. I do New Year's cards. They are more memorable and avoid an religious issues. People remember them more in the new year vs all the clutter for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Holiday cards in early December, that way I think it covers everything in the Nov-Dec holiday season, I also include a calendar for the fridge.

We use a very inexpensive ($8 per year unlimited) high end email cards. Here is a link. It is not an affiliate link (we make no money off this).

We put the 2016 calendars and Thanksgiving cards in the mail last night. We do this early as many will be traveling over the holiday. About 200 others will get Christmas cards.

I do both+1 as over November & December (and New Years) as I sand out cards to my top 200 in my CRM. I just divide my list of recipients and 50% get a Turkey Card & 50% get Santa. I also send out New Years cards to the balance of my CRM 201-300. I use all three holidays to get the project done and rotate the groups each year.
I do think Christmas cards are more impactful than people realize-since nobody sends them anymore. I used to cover our front door in cards, not I get about 10 between work & personal total. I get lots of e-cards the last few years and those are about as meaningful as a pre-printed card.
I can only get about 100 handwritten cards a month out with dedicated "card days" to accomplish the extra 50. I naturally send 50 notes per month, the extra 50 takes planning.

No, unless it is a prominent or recent sale, where there was a solid connection with my clients and the desire for an enduring friendship.

I am doing Thanksgiving cards ... I just like the idea on so many levels. Saying thank-you to begin with. I am debating whether I will send Christmas Cards ... or wait until after the 1st of the year for another mailing. For the very reasons you mention. Will be interested to see what others say regarding this question ...

I have sent Thanksgiving and Christmas cards in the past.
I prefer the Thanksgiving cards because fewer of those cards are received by the typical family.
In our market, we have a very diverse population and many prospects are not Christians.
I think birthday and anniversary cards are more effective for building relationships.

I send something at Christmas Time. This year I am doing 5 x 7 calendars as my Christmas card. I feel like Thanksgiving is too in your face, but that is just my humble opinion.

I have never given out Thanksgiving cards nor do I know anyone who has. Perhaps this is done more by Americans than Canadians.

All of my past and present clients and friends receive a Thanksgiving card as this is something only a few do.
Close clients and friends will also get a Christmas, Hanukkah etc card as well.

No, but many send 'thanks' at Thanksgiving to their past clients. It's kind of 80's thinking though.

Good morning Michael. I do not send out any cards any longer, haven't for a number of years. Do cards you get, unless from family that really make that much of a difference to you?

I have sent out Christmas cards , but generaly do not, not as much meaning when sent from a business as it would be from a friend.

My Christmas card equivalent is an invitation to an annual holiday party.

Never Thanksgiving cards. Christmas/New Year cards only to friends and family.

A few to special clients. I send a holiday email to my whole list as one more touch to keep me top-of-mind.

No. I think they get lost in the tons of other cards people receive that time of the year.

I do not give out and never have. I like to send them through the mail. I think people like to open them up so I do send out several dozen.
