In May 2016 I wrote a post on "You Can Buy This Entire Town in West Virginia". Yes, Sugar Grove Station, the former U.S. Naval Information Operations Center support base in Pendleton County, WV, has been sold! This former U.S. Navy base consists of 122 acres with 80 homes, a baseball diamond, a pre-school, a fire station, a gymnasium and a bowling alley.... Robert Pike, the man who made the highest bid for Sugar Grove Station at $4,010,009.90, is going to repurpose the former naval base into a healthcare campus. According to the GSA, Pike is working with the Mellivora Partners from Birmingham, Alabama, to turn the 122-acre facility into a campus that will focus on the healthcare needs of active duty military personnel as well as residents of West Virginia.
