Today I received a gift from my father from Christmas past that brought joy to my heart and tears to my eyes.... I was so deeply moved I wanted to share it with you.  I was searching through You Tube today and came across Fred Waring and The Pennsylvanians.   This was a band from the big band era and the man who invented The Waring Blender.  My father, Stuart Churchill, was one of Fred's tenor soloists. I happened to click on the following video and much to my surprise in this simple little video the unmistakable voice came right out of the past...a voice that I miss so much.  He is the first soloist that you hear.         It is funny how we each have such distinctive voices and the voice of our parents is such a part of our memory.  In fact, once while he was still living, I happened t... 12/20/2009

            Being such a fan of our Active Rain four legged friends...I wanted to wish you Merry Christmas from Chewbacca....yes the poor thing had to endure the fake beard courtesy of the gutting of his newest toy....and a hat to top it off!           He sure has grown this past year!  Can you believe just last year he could fit in a stocking....       Today is the last day for finals at Washington State University!   The fall semester is now officially coming to an end here in Pullman and graduation ceremonies took place last Saturday!       I am up at my son's business, glo tanning salon, covering shifts for our girls so that they can head home early for break.  A special heartfelt wish from me to all our girls...both employees and clients!   It is a really nice change of pace and I am enjoying myself immensely.  Our special girls have really made this business take off...they have all worked really hard this semester helping this business get off to an amazing start.   And our clients really are the best and have really welcomed us....   It is really great to see the excited look on their faces as they stop by before heading ... 12/18/2009

Christmas is in the air at my office!  Tonight is our annual Christmas party and all of our agents are really looking forward to it!  I am really blessed to be a part of Beasley Realty.  Our company is an independent family brokerage and I love working for them!   The history of our company is a long one.  It was originally begun by Ted Beasley in 1971.  Ted as the broker owner of Beasley firmly believed in a family brokerage that cared not only about his Realtors but their families.  Each Christmas he has always had a family orientated celebration for his extended family here at Beasley. Come join the fun for the Pullman Washington Annual Holiday Tree Lighting on Saturday December 5, 2009 at the Pine Street Plaza! By 3:00 PM you can vote for your favorite window and tree decorations!  Just get your ballots at the Plaza.       At 4:00 the Pullman Civic Theater will perform scenes from the Christmas Story.  I am told by the Chamber of Commerce that there will be free cookies and and cocoa served at the Plaza.  This sounds wonderful! At 5:00 the RTOP performs scenes from Willy Wonka and at 6:00 we will get a special arrival of a mysterious man with a white beard...and a red velvet suit! Thanks for the invite to your group.  As you can probably tell...I am a HUGE fan of our little four legged friends.  Here is a picture of Chewbacca taken with my iphone.  Just a few minutes before when his eyes were closed you couldn't tell where in the world his eyes were... I was watching the news while getting my kitchen cleaned up and ready for some serious cooking over the next few days and overheard a broadcast stating that a Couer D'Alene Cabin was on the move.   I looked up and couldn't believe it!  A move!  That was an understatement!  They are barging a 100,000 pound cabin across the lake!  Here is the link in case you would like to see the pictures of the  move.   According to the reporter and the article posted on line, the land was purchased to build a multi-million dollar home along the lake....soooo the cabin had to go.    It looks like quite an extensive undertaking.  First, of course, they had to get it off the foundation and on the barge.  Can you imagine the shifting weight?      And what the report brought out that the article doesn't, is... 11/24/2009

      Thanksgiving always comes a little early for us in Pullman Washington as the Washington State University students pack up to head to their families for Thanksgiving Break.       They are busy heading to and from classes today knowing that a the week ahead will be a great time to re-connect with their families and friends.   It is always amazing to watch the streets in Pullman go from being packed to a special quietness as the students head home.    A wonderful stillness surrounds our community during the Holiday times....   Yet, interestinly today has also been a busy day with lots of showings for myself and lots of our agents.... I have seen lots of activity at our office ...that is great!I would like to take this time to wish you all  traveling home for Thanksgiving a safe trip... 11/20/2009

Today is a day to remember.... Remembering what we enjoy because of the sacrifice of others.... I stop to reflect thinking of those I know who personally served and those I don't.  My husband's father landed on Omaha Beach after the first initial waves.  For years, he really didn't talk much about it..there was always an untold pain behind his eyes like so many of our soldiers who survived.... But I have been told that late in life he went back with some of his grandchildren and began to tell of the ultimate sacrifice made by many...many of his friends.  And I had the honor to watch his military service when he passed away recently...there was such a beautiful and fitting dignity that I will always remember.   We enjoy so much in this great land thanks to the men and women who serve.  A... 11/11/2009

  Now is even a better time to buy a home in Washington State!  First Time home buyers now have until April 30, 2009 to have a signed around purchase and sale agreement for their first home and be eligible for up to an 8,000 dollar tax credit.   The buyer also has a 60 day grace period to complete their financing.  So that  means you could be in your first home anywhere between the first snowfall in Pullman to our wonderful 4th of July celebration in Sunnyside Park!     And now more first time home buyers qualify!  The annual income qualifications have also risen to 75,000 to 125,000 for singles and 150,000 to 225,000 for married couples!
