One of the themes that goes along with the Christmas time of year is Peace On Earth. Besides no wars between nations as a great goal, carrying inner peace in times of turmoil and problems and SPREADING that to others is a worthwhile endeavor.Spread the peace. Following up somewhat on my Thanksgiving Day post about helpers, I always see the world backwards. So much consumerism at this Christmas time of year, financial pressure, travel, people buying all sorts of goods they probably have no need for just to make people "happy." What I see, is many in great need for a listening ear, a warm hug, a reassurance that things will be fine, almost a pause AWAY from the craziness of life with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and just an encouraging conversation.I have had people come up to me at a table at McDonald's while I was using the WiFi to just talk about their day in the morning. It is hard to imagine it is 75 years back at the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese happened. On the battleship USS Arizona alone hit by the Japanese torpedoes 1,177 sailors and Marines died from that early Sunday morning. FDR called it a day that shall live in infamy. Me being stuck between a generation that lived through that and later 9/11 in the early 21st century you do wonder will 75 years from that if people will remember? Everyone remembers that attack in Eastern time that Sunday afternoon when the news came across the radio in 1941. My mother said she was at home in her bedroom. The U.S. was going to war. At this year's Thanksgiving time I think we all ponder what we may be thankful for at this point in our lives. There is a life principle, Don't allow people to waste your time a second time. It is a good thought to nip things going sideways in the early stages. Some Principal - Agent relationships are not meant to be. Some partnerships go bust fast. This applies more in business as common sense. With love and relationships and family, it seems it is blind or we go into a sacrifice area. But business settings you will lose precious productive time having the wrong people waste your time. Coming out of the election cycle where there was not only so much vitriol between the two major candidates personally and on their policies, but between their followers on social media it made me think of the children's game hide and seek. The objective of whomever is IT is to find the others out in the field hiding is a lesson we can take, particularly in NOT for business purposes talking at length or at all with religion or politics. That lesson is one of    INVISIBILITY.Not to dampen anyone's freedom of speech, or personal choice, or principles, but we could tone it down or there is a time and place to express our views particularly when someone could totally believe the opposite to you, and this discussion has nothing to do with business. There used to be a corn chip commercial where you would eat the chips straight out of the bag and then dip them in your tasty salsa and the manufacturer would remind you to eat up, don't worry, they'll make more. With thinking about TIME, it is humorous to think about SAVING time cause you really can't, it is a resource like the sand pouring to empty in the hourglass, that only can be spent. YOU CAN'T MAKE MORE OF TIME. Also, in your own individual life you do not know how much YOU or anyone else really has.Productivity can be thought of as doing things easier or in parallel although multi tasking it is said is not as good as single focus. I used to work for a corporate America company that had its U.S headquarters around Times Square in New York. In the evening after work when visiting there for meetings, I would wander that area to take in the scenery. I always admired street performers. I like the "pause in the busy action" of the hub bub of busy city street life they give us with people scurrying around, cabs, cars honking horns, the NYPD building with its armed guards on watch, etc. BUT it always made me think of our logical brain and emotional brain sides. Too often in life, we ignore art and beauty. We need to develop seeing this, and even creating this with our own life designs, and also appreciating art. As we enter the Fall season from Summer it is a season of change obviously, shorter days in the northern hemisphere, cooler temperatures. Change is persistent, and I think with frustrations, disappointments, even people as simple as not doing what they say they will do, or surprising you on the negative side, we need to develop a coping skill for better inner peace. We have all seen this person on the road. Coming up fast from behind you and cutting you off then weaving in and out of traffic. The Lane Weaver. Dangerous. Must be in a hurry. Terrible driver. I have been reading some articles on minimalist thinking and thought I would discuss it here briefly. It is essentially having an "enough" mentality. If you earned $90,000 a year you do not need to spend $110,000 a year. You live under your means. You know the difference between need and want. You can have goals to achieve but you are not overly materialistic. He that is RICHEST "Needs the least". It is a way to count your blessings better too. What DO you have? NOT what are you missing? What within your world do you have that money can't buy? Peace, relationships, health, satisfaction, even HAPPINESS? There is a phrase in life that you go further depending on how well you solve problems. In real estate the agent puts a lot of parts together to get to the end result of a successfully closed transaction. In our business and personal goals, it is so important to go tone deaf to the naysayers. We can do this essentially two ways. One, by pumping ourself up internally with positive self talk and externally with encouragers and supporters in our life, which give us tremendous confidence, and second steer clear of negativity whether words or people that are of that ilk. Who needs detractors? They drag you down. Confidence gives you single purpose and laser focus. Confidence adds fuel to keep you in a steady state of perserverance.
