According to an article in the Dallas Morning News yesterday Dallas home prices have dropped 3.3% from a year ago. Comparatively speaking, the Dallas market is actually doing well as sales prices have dropped 14% nationwide. If you take an average home selling for $150k, according to the article that home is selling for $4950 less in the Dallas area than one year ago. Sellers should keep in mind that while they may take a little less in the sell of their property they are most likely buying another and paying less than they would have a year ago as well.
