Last night we visited Hakata Ramen and Sushi in the Gateway Shopping Plaza in Tredyffrin Easttown. Here is what we thought. This is a new restaurant, locally owned and the first Ramen restaurant in Tredyffrin Easttown. It is a BYOB, with pretty modern decor although there were some interesting design choices which jarred with the overall design. For example some old window frames with fake flowers which did not seem to agree with the mural on the wall by the open kitchen. Tables and chairs were not great quality, and one booth had you looking at the back of another bench. How was the food? The menu was typical, as expected, incuding different starters, sushi, sashimi and rice bowl, poke bowls and ramen with additional add ons. We had one sushi roll as a starter to share, and then had a r...

I have been trying for several years to get together with Teresa from Eastcote Lane in Wayne to introduce her store to a wider audience. I know several local decorators use her as a resource and she has a great eye and a talent transforming older pieces of furniture into something you must have.Today, I was able to spend some time with her and the video below gives a brief introduction to her store, Eastcote lane, a working furniture shop and art space at 751 W Lancaster Ave., Wayne PA 19087, you can find the locations in Cape May and Kennett Square on her website www.EastcoteLane.com. As you hear in the video the name of the store caught my attention first and then I realized what a cool place and resource this could be for homeowners. Check out our website and YouTube Channel for othe...

Five days - how long it took for us to get this wonderful property in Tredyffrin Easttown in the Woodgate development in Paoli under agreement. This is the second home in Woodgate we have sold quickly. This home was completely renovated with new floors, new kitchen and bathrooms and was gorgeous.140 Woodgate Lane, Paoli, PA 19301. A 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath town home over three floors, the loft space with brand new split system central air and heater. The location of Woodgate within walking distance to Paoli train station, soon to become a new inter-modal transportation center, with access to Amtrak, SEPTA Thorndale - Paoli line, SEPTA buses and multiple local employer buses makes this a clear winner. Showings had been strong, our marketing with video, multiple professional photos and local...

Last week we began marketing a new Tredyffrin Easttown listing. Yesterday we presented our seller with 11 offers. What did we do to generate 11 offers?Firstly we realized the home required work and was going to be sold "As is" with the seller unable to do any repairs. The home was not going to be staged and had been vacant for a while but we felt that honesty was the best policy.I took photos, and filmed a walk through video, highlighting the salient points. Our description let everyone know the home required work but underneath had good bones. We discussed who the likely buyer would be with the seller and talked about how we could reach that buyer and what we were going to do. We believed the most likely buyer would be a builder or contractor who would walk through the house, make a cash...

Have you ever realized for years you have missed out on something right under your nose?I have driven past this space so many times, and this week decided to stop and see what was here. The George Lorimer Preserve is 87.8 acres and is a combination of meadows, woods, Valley Creek, birds, ponds, wildflowers and a small trail system all open to the public for free to walk and enjoy. It doesn't take long to walk, but if you have some dogs, as long as you keep them on leash it is a wonderful place to take them for a walk. Lots of it is in the shade and I felt like I was back in England walking public footpaths across the countryside again. The walking is fairly easy and today I only came across one other person using the trails with a couple of dogs.Set on a semi rural road. N Valley Road in ...

What I love about our area is the glimpses of history around us. Driving out via Valley Forge Park to Phoenixville along Route 252 North a little before you get to Route 23 you see the bridge below. Recently repaired after a truck clipped the side and demolished a portion of it it is a glimpse of days gone by. There is parking close by and a lovely trail along the river or creek bank under the shade of trees. It is popular with those who want an easy flat walk and those who will challenge the hill it sits at the bottom of for a more adventurous hike as well. There was a foundry situated along this side of the creek allowing the Americans to make bullets and cannon balls should the English attack the camp at Valley Forge. The two hills this sits between are called Mount Misery and Mount J...

The Philadelphia Antiques & Arts ShowThe Philadelphia Antiques & Arts Show is on this weekend, opening today down at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. I went to the Opening night party last night and could see several pieces had sold straight away. My brother is exhibiting so if you go stop by and say hello. He sells ceramics of all periods including Piero Fornasetti and probably has the largest stock of this in the world, as well as sailor woolies which can be extremely decorative.        Interview I also was interviewed being the manager and chair of The Main Line Antiques Show for an article on A Beginners Guide to Antiquing in Main Line Today a local magazine.Real EstateOn top of this I helped a client get his offer accepted on a Tredyffrin Easttown condo for which we have been looking...
