It is June 2nd and I sat outside after dinner tonight to look up at the early night sky, hoping to see my first Lightening Bug of the season. I look for them every year, in the early days of June.The nights have been a bit on the cool side the last few days, below average according to local weather people. Into the mid 60's, so I did not think they would appear. My wish was fulfilled.After a few minutes I saw 2 lights!!!They appeared on the edge of the branches up high.There was a burst of excitement from one then another joined in.They left one tree and headed up to another tree, a short distance away.Then they stopped lighting. Glad to know they will be lighting the trees in the early night sky this June.The up coming hot weather will help them along.Lightening Bugs, I never tire of t... 06/02/2020

Happy Spring!  It was official last evening.....Spring is here!  Today the weather here in SE PA feels more like summer, but only for the one day, as the winds blow in. It is always interesting to watch the flowers wake up in turn in Spring, with the anticipation of others to follow.  Crocuses, snowdrops, forsythia, now the magnolia trees, are giving their wonderful flower offerings.  At least the magnolia flowers will have a chance to run their natural course instead of being stunted by a late winter snow storm. Because of the surreal times we are now in, and most of us working from home, it is wonderful to have nature to observe, offering a joyful distraction. Please take care everyone, enjoy the fresh Spring air, and hopefully you can find some joy in the offerings of Spring!    03/20/2020
