This photo taken during an inspection of a home I have in escrow in Newport, Oregon, on the Central Oregon Coast near Agate Beach. There was a cabinet that was painted shut, inspector asked me if I could gently pry it open to see if we could find electrical box. What I found was much more interesting!! Home was built in 1955. A crusty old cabinet which looked like it may have once held Ball jars full of homemade jellies had old newsprint underneath the linoleum flooring lining the shelves. I took a photo with spiderwebs intact for your viewing pleasure. I think it is truly a work of art. Enjoy!

I recently played jazz music outdoors on my vibraphone....overlooking the Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport, Oregon! It was a fundraiser for the Samaritan House Homeless Shelter for families with children. The event was the "Secret Garden Tour" and it was a success even though there was a few sprinkles mixed with the sunshine, not uncommon here on the coast. Please view this photo with smooth jazz in the backround, open the window for a light breeze, a nice cold adult beverage and a snack, and you will experience a little of the magic I felt while playing live music that day in Newport! If you have a dream of owning coastal Oregon property, please give me a ring at 541-270-6758 and I can tell you all about the area. As you can see, we have lots of unusual, fun things to do here in Lin...

The steady stream of visitors to Newport continues today as the Japanese Tsunami Dock awaits removal from where it has landed in Agate Beach. This photo shows the tourist draw that the dock has provided to our community. Luckily, the dock stranded itself near the Agate Beach Wayside State Park, a day use recreational facility with plenty of parking which is about 1/4 mile from the dock itself. There are restrooms and barbeques, everything you need to make a day of it. The arrival of the behemoth has been a boon to merchants after a long, rainy and slow winter tourist season. Many locals are hoping it stays on the beach for as long as possible this summer. It could be removed anytime, so come soon if you want to see an exciting sight on the Oregon Coast. You might even find an agate or...

Here is a fresh photo of the Japanese Dock which is located near my office in Newport, Oregon near Agate Beach. While at a Chamber of Commerce meeting this morning, I heard about a new telephone number that people should call if they find any floating items that are suspected to be from Japan. Please dial 211 so that you may submit the item to the scientists to determine if there is any radiation or invasive marine life on the item. The 211 hotline has just gone live today, 6/29/2012, so this is very fresh news indeed. I have also heard that the Parks department may be leaving the dock in place for a bit longer due to the many requests by tourists and merchants in the Newport area who would like to enjoy the historic event as long as possible this summer season. Please be aware that th...
