When you list a property and hope for multiple offers, a couple of things can happen: 1.  You can receive one offer at full price 2.  You can receive multiple offers 3.  You can wait and wait and wait. Here's an example:  A young couple decided to sell their home and due to the market expected to receive multiple offers.  On the first day on the market, the received an offer for the full price, no financing clause, just inspection.  Well, they felt that if they got an offer on the first day there must be more coming. There were showings back to back and on some days showings were overlapping.  But no other offers came in, the property sat on the market for several weeks and finally, the price was reduced and an offer was received.  Conclusion:  They made less money because they waited. ...
