Plainfield, New Jersey's Single Family Property Report for July 2010 highlights the jewels of the city; homes that are $400,000 and more featuring four plus bedrooms. This market has seen a significant drop in activity since the mortgage meltdown. During the month of July, there were 35 properties for sale with an average price of $560,516, from a range of $429,000 to $1,600,000. Average days on market was 134 days. During the month there were no closed sales. Family Movie Night: A Bug's Life Will be presented by the Plainfield Public Schools on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 7 - 9 PM at the Washington Community School, located at 427 Darrow Avenue. (Parking available in the Spooner Avenue lot.) Although the school district has been hit hard with budget cuts, they managed to earmark funds to create a summer opportunity for youngaters and their family. The People's Organization for Progress (POP)/Restore Muhlenberg Coalition will be Finalizing plans for Wednesday's commemoration of the 2nd anniversary of Muhlenberg's closure. The meeting will take place at the duCret School of Art, 1030 Central Avenue, August 9, 2010 at 6:30 PM . Park and enter at the rear of the building. The second annual commemoration of the closing of Muhlenberg Hospital will take place on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 6:30 PM at the Muhlenberg parking lot, corner of Randolph Road and Park Avenue. Cancer survivors will be honored by Plainfielders in the Third Annual Relay for Life Overnight Event. The function starts this evening at 6:00 PM from the Hub Stine Field at and will end at 7:00 AM on Sunday, May 23, 2010. There are 42 teams organized to walk through the night in an effort to raise funds to find a cure. A luminaria Ceremony will be held at 9:00 PM.
