The Brainerd Lakes area is looking like a the summer playground that it is.  With our sky blue waters and lush green fields and forests, there is something for everyone. Right now with our inventory of homes on most lakes and other desirable locations, one's attention goes to the interest rates for mortgages and they are looking good, as well.

This information is provided by firstmnhome.com When deciding to purchase a home, the first thing a family needs to consider is financing.  Where will you obtain the money, and how much can you afford to borrow?  The rule of thumb states you can afford a home that costs about 2.5 times your annual salary. However, what is can afford is also affected by other circumstances.  First, what are your other bills? Be sure to include utilities, doctor bills, insurance, groceries, tuition for children, etc. Second, do you have money for a down payment? Generally a down payment is 3%. Some finance programs allow you to finance the entire amount of the loan with no money down. Last, how much will you need for closing costs? Typical closing costs include earnest money, inspection and appraisal fees...

When I was young my friends and I were always "digging holes to China". We did not know how far away China was and we didn't care.  We just liked digging.      China is digging herself a hole now and firmly planting her feet in the sand. Even in a visit and speech from President Obama concerning Internet censorship, free speech was blocked online.      China has more than 250 Million Internet users and has some of the world's toughest content on what traffic is entering or leaving their network. There are some smart and rebellious Inernet savvy bloggers in China using proxy servers to get around the controls and to speak freely - like we do here in the United States of America every day.  I love the USA- may the name of God continue to stand.

You have just had the perfect evening with friends over and happy conversations by glowing candlelight. Your guests have departed and you are cleaning up before retiring. The dishes - into the kitchen, the candles -ooops a wax spill on your lovely new carpet.  What to do , what to do????         Take a brown paper bag - either a lunch bag or a piece of a grocery bag that's big enough to cover the wax. Place the paper bag over the melted wax and use a hot iron (steam off) to rub over the paper bag. The wax will come off automatically and be absorbed into the bag. This method is A LOT easier than the ice cube way.       My company Re$ale Design & Home Staging also does event planning and we have had many spills by nervous wedding participants on church carpets. The brown bags an...

On-line marketing and using Websites, email and Social Media It comes as no surprise that the Internet has forever changed the way we market product and services!  We can promote ourselves, generate business, buy and sell things, do our banking and communicate with others. During this recession, and if you have time, we should be spending time thinking about our presence on line.  Is my site the best one?  Does it do what I created it for?  Does it generate leads?  Are my photos out-dated (Summer vs winter pics)? Most importantly, does it represent ME?  Does it represent my Business?  After viewing my website and meeting me, will the person think of one individual or two? Everyone should set a goal as to what they want to accomplish with their on-line media, emails and social sites. I w...

Seller Financing Options - On Lake shore Properties When people think of buying lakeshore, Lake Lots or a lake home, is it just a Dream?  The answer is NO!  It can be a reality for just about any buyer.  The key is knowing where to look, what questions to ask and knowing all the Financing Options. When it comes to Financing Options on Lake lots or Lake shore:  Do you consider asking the seller for some Help?  In many cases this will not be an option, because the seller needs the proceeds to buy another property, if it is his primary residence, But this is the narrow minded or tunnel vision approach.  Seek out the Real Estate Developers...  The current economic climate is hard on the developers too.  In my case I happen to have access to dozens of Lake lots and several lake homes with th...

Klare Mada Lorentz was born to Kalli and Rick Lorentz of Pillager, MN on Sunday, May 6th, 2007 at precisely 12:34 P.M. "The timing was simply amazing," said Nan Kalk, a registered nurse at Lakewood Health System in Staples who played a role in Klare's natural delivery.  "It really was a one-in-a-million event, especially considering the delivery team did nothing to interfere with what time the baby arrived."Klare will forever be known as Lakewood Health System's "little 1234567 baby," said Kalk.                                                                                                                        -  A Baby Girl-                                                                                                                 Photo by Colin,Eve, Daniel
