How indeed does your garden grow? Down here in Crystal Beach Florida, mine is doing just fine. This morning I went out and picked some fresh basil, romaine lettuce, various colors bell peppers, a couple of red hot peppers and some of the multicolored pole beans. All of this is coming inside not only for cooking but also for general snacks! Nothing like fresh bell peppers to snack on while working on the computer! Fishing and Florida Sunshine here in Crystal Beach just go together. Perhaps that is why Ronnie is out fishing as much as possible. When he took his boat in for service last week, the mechanic told him that our boat is out on the water in a six month period more than most people go out on the water in several years. We do love being out on the water and what better place than here in beautiful Pinellas County Florida? Our county is a peninsula, so you can fish on the Tampa Bay side or on the Gulf of Mexico side. Since we live just two blocks from the gulf, it makes sense that we choose the gulf side. There is always something biting and we always manage to have fresh fish for dinner several days a week. The client had been using a Realtor that found homes that she thought they would like to see and showed them those homes. They wanted some control and were already preapproved and ready to purchase. Crystal Beach Florida grows enormous staghorns as you can see from this one that a neighbor down the block has in their yard. It is so large that it has a pedestal underneath to help support this mama of a staghorn. I guess it is a combination of our fantastic tropical temperatures and mild winters that make staghorns grow like this here in Crystal Beach Florida. The orchid trees are indeed blooming right now here in beautiful Crystal Beach Florida. As we took a walk today, it was wonderful walking past the dozens of orchid trees all over Crystal Beach. Fishing weather is indeed back here in Crystal Beach and I had to share. The last two days were cold! It was 41 degrees here early this morning and 44 yesterday morning! Thank heaven, the temps will be back in the high 70's tomorrow and low 80's on Wednesday.  Ronnie is already planning on several days back-to-back of fishing! I am always pleased when he can get out and fish since he otherwise gets cabin fever! While I will have to take my walks solo, it means more fishing blog posts and fresh fish for dinner. Would you believe I offered a fishing trip to a client who said he had no time since when he is off work, he is either baby-sitting or working on one of the rental homes I have sold him. Yes, it is raining down here in the sunshine state today, it started last night. That is fine since my garden is loving it. I never took out my pepper plants and they are full of buds again. My cukes, cantaloupes, squash, zucchini, lettuce and pole beans are coming up and are already a few inches tall. My eggplant is full of buds and the radishes are ready to eat. I also planted some Russian garlic but won't do that again since it takes so long for garlic to grow and it doesn't like our heat. But the green tops are wonderful in salads while it is growing!!! Naturally, I also have almost two dozen pineapple plants growing and then there is the litchi nut tree..... So with that information, you know that I appreciate the rains and so do my plants.
