Good afternoon real estate market, Marco Pontillo here, writing today about the market in Greater Vancovuer. After a busy weekend with opens and a lot of activity, I wanted to touch base on some new stats that have been released: Housing starts in the Vancouver Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) were down in March 2011 compared to February, but total yearly housing starts were up by 19% to 3,808 units in 2011 compared to 3,198 units in 2010 according to figures released by the CMHC. There were 958 housing starts in the Vancouver CMA in March 2011, which was a 9.0% increase from the 879 starts from the same month last year in March 2010.
