CMHC is very optimistic when it comes to the future of Calgary's real estate market!! In it's latest Housing Outlook Conference for Calgary, the Mortgage and Housing Corporation gave a very strong growth forecast for home sales and prices in the city, saying that in 2012 the expected sales activity will rise 16% (compared to 2011) by the end of the year with 26,000 sold units, approaching levels not seen since 2007!! This number is expected to go even higher in 2013 when additional 500 sold properties will increase the total sales to 26,500. The strong demand for housing in Calgary that is not met with the same level of inventory supply have pushed the prices moderately up! 2% increase by the end of the year is expected to raise the $402,000 average price of 2011 to $411,000 by the end ...

Lake Bonavista Estates Market Stats - October 2012 Lake Bonavista Estates offers luxury lakefront homes in a very well established community that is situated in the southeast quadrant of Calgary. October Market snapshot shows that single family homes were selling quickly in Lake Bonavista Estates with an average 17 days on the market. Calgary real estate sales still on the rise in October with 23% increase in total residential sales over the same month last year, bucking a slower national trend! The latest market report released by CREB showed that since the beginning of the year 18,676 properties changed hands, raising the number of sales by 16% from the same period last year! This higher demand for housing was not satisfied however by the same level of increase in inventory, leading the prices to go up as a result! New Brighton sales increased in 2012 with 199 total residential units sold by the end of the third quarter, compared to 129 in 2011 and 128 in 2010. Sold single family homes reached 166 during the same period, with an average sold price of $390,988 and a median sold price of $395,000. In 2011 only 107 single family homes were sold between January and September, with an average sold price of $381,792 and median sold price of $389,000. Condos and townhouses sales in New Brighton also increased, from 22 last year to 33 in 2012.
