The value of what we add is up to the client to decide. What might provide extra value for one, will not for another,

I think adding value for us is by going beyond what is expected for any client, as all of their personal situations can be different Peter Mohylsky, and some need more help than others. We have spot-painted walls that had black marks, have raked pods/leaves under huge trees in the front yard and filled black garbage bags, have spot-cleaned marks on carpets, etc.

Here's a really novel approach to adding value.
Ask the consumer.
The quality of the question will reflect the quality of the answer.
I would suggest beginning with:
"What tools do you use?"
"What frustrates you most when using them?"
Know their pain and you will SEE your gain.

My seller showed me a list another agent had left with options at prices were jacked up. What I offer for free this agent charged for. ($99 for a lock box)

Peter,
Hopefully we are each already proving maximum value to our clients and can communicate that. I never fear a discount broker. What they “offer” for what they charge is a bad value in my book.
