I carry a general liability policy 1M/2M for my office, I'm not sure that extends to my clients homes with out making them additional insured; but since I don't host or allow open houses, I'm not seeing the need. (I never provided booties when I did host them years ago, nor do I ever wear them, I just remove my shoes. I do have an umbrella policy on my rental properties.
I don't think many realtors realize they're engaged in a commercial business, thus requiring commericial insurance, or at the very least additional riders or umbrellas to their current policies. In today's litigious society, all it would take is for one person to ruin your day.
Fred Hafdelin I do carry an umbrella policy.
Smart real estate professionals will carry an umbrella liability insurance policy.
Thank you for the question.
no. good to know - something else to worry about
Yes I have an umbrella policy and sometimes especially with the AFC we can be insurance poor!
I didn't realize that a policy existed to cover those situations....
No, we don't have it.
Far too easy to sue.
Good to know Fred Hafdelin .....
I do keep a BIG umbrella policy.
I have high protection limits on my E&O and have in the past had a liability rider. Now I do not.
One more reason to avoid doing open houses...
