Troy Erickson and Nina Hollander you are both absolutely right. I did call them back when you do it says the google voice user.. blah blah blah. It forces you to leave a message not person has yet to answer.

Thankfully not, so far. It will be interesting to see what happens. Legally, if a home is listed with one agent, other agents have no right to "speak" with that seller unless the seller initiates the contact.

I have not see other agents using it but have seen scammers using it. Both on my sellers and myself. Now just another warning to add to the list

Many agents in my area are using Google Voice. They use it primarily to screen their calls.

Vera - I'm not sure how using Google Voice allows agents the right to contact a seller who is already represented by an agent. This would still be a violation either way, and all one would have to to is call that Google Voice number to see who answers.

Gabe Sanders absolutely 2 of my sellers were savvy enough to let them know it was unacceptable.

I know how that works, but in our area, once a person is signed with a realtor, that is an issue for the Board.

I have not experienced it with my clients. Atleast I have not heard about it.

Nope, and I don't know how you would know whether it was google voice or not. As you can tell I don't have one of those numbers...

Debbie Reynolds that is what it was intended for business wise. Plus you could call for free, keeping down minutes etc.
Scott Godzyk that is terrible, sorry that happened to you. Sadly it is one more thing to have to keep up with.

Suzanne McLaughlin it is here too. I was quite surprised. Their wording was to keep them in mind.

Evelyn Johnston when you call the number back it automatically tells you it is a google voice number.
Gita Bantwal It is a pretty new tactic. So your name does not come up on caller ID.
