Free leads are usually worth exactly what you paid for them. Trulia has never impressed me, and I don't really care if they merge with Zilow or not.

Noah... wish I had that crystal ball to answer your question. I think it could go either way and I'm watching like crazy. Personally, I think a merger is not a great idea--too monopolistic and that always ends up hurting us. (Glad I didn't ever over-invest in Trulia's blog.)

Inna Ivchenko that totally stinks and it sounds like you are not alone (and there seem to be many coming here from Trulia. This is all the more reason to build/develop your own site, so that you are not reliant on others where you have no control (e.g. if they start charging fees, shut down or change things around).

Yes, I think it will happen. I'm sure they have all their ducks in a row. It's prob. going to make it more challenging for those that rely on online biz. For those that rely on referrals, it will prob. have very little impact.

I used to have a lot of leads from Trulia, I did not pay, but was VIP3 by points. Now, I have zero calls, emails. You get to pay to get any exposure there, even if you have active listings.

Zillow and Trulia will merge and become one - but there are other services that are rising and providing competition.

The real estate industry goes on whether the merger happens or not. It seems more likely that it will based--on their suggestion that you join AR.

Noah,
I would assume that it is going to happen. I think that we are going to see a shift in the real estate world as we know it today. A lot of changes are afoot, and the winners will be those agents that are willing to do the fundamentals, and not rely so heavily on the internet, The top producers in every market place are doing just that. I think it will happen. I guess we will have some new members joining AR and that is great. The more the merrier. I don't know anything else beyond that. I hope AR keeps being down to earth and a great community and I hope big business doesn't change the face of AR.

Well, it's been delayed till Feb 15. And I think this will happen, it's just a matter of time. (If Exxon-Mobil can, anything else is minor.)

A blast from the past. Many people like the Trulia blog and Q&A and wish it hadn't gone away.

I think the Trulia blog reached different consumers than my AR blog did, that is why i enjoyed blogging on both platforms. Trulia was falling apart on its on and is now seemingly being dismantled piece by piece. Not sure what will become of it but if it does rise again, i just hope they start caring about the agents that made them what they are with all our contributions.
