The dish "Marry Me Chicken" got its name because it's so delicious that it's rumored to be so good, it could inspire a marriage proposal!  With the wedding season upon us, I thought it might be fun to post this recipe and who knows... this might win over a potential groom into jumping in with a marriage proposal! The combination of flavorful ingredients like sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and creamy sauce makes it a standout dish that may just win over anyone's heart. While its origin isn't entirely clear, it's likely that the name caught on due to its reputation for being irresistibly tasty. Here's a recipe for "Marry Me Chicken" along with instructions: Ingredients:- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (a whole roaster chicken can be used as well)- Salt and pepper, to taste- 2 ta...

I always look forward to seeing the flashback of times before.Well with that said, the first photo on top I took today for future flashbacks:) the photo above was with me and Schmoie playing ball in the back yard. Nothing has changed accept the price of eggs and the location where I painted them. Friday Flags In Waterbury CT's West SideEarlier in the week while leaving the Waterbury Hospital entrance, it appeared that the flag winds were trying to make me wait longer than I wanted for a photo. With a little patience, however, the winds cooperated, and I got a photo that I could be pleased to offer up today.Even it if took a change in wind direction to get it done. Friday Flags In Waterbury CT's West Side

Nongshim, Udon Noodle Soup BowlMy selection for lunch at home was a Nongshim, Udon Noodle Soup Bowl. We find the six-pack packages of bowls at Costco.  It is a thick, wheat-based noodle, usually served in a mildly flavored broth, seasoned with soy sauce. The soup has a mild flavor and it contains dried seaweed, tempura, and fish cakes. The Udon Noodle Cup is perfect for anyone who prefers a non-spicy noodle dish. Chrysanthemum, Longwood Gardens,Kennett Square, Pennsylvania USA IMG 7853Canon PowerShot G11 CameraPhotograph by Roy KelleyRoy and Dolores Kelley Photographs

Let me introduce Picco, my new significant other. He's a shaggy mixed breed - his mom was a purebred beagle, and dad? Well, I think he was a froo froo mystery man.He was an immediate real estate asset.  When I needed a name, I had a "Name the Puppy" contest on Monday Morning Coffee, my weekly post to my base. And a favorite client's now grown up daughter (who happens to be a dog trainer) came up with Picco as something he would answer to. And he makes a sort of high pitched squeaky noise that reminds me of sour notes that I get on my piccolo when I'm out of practice. He's actually a bit of a jerk - he eats textiles and thinks of sofa cushions as dessert. He also likes to chew on wood and jump up onto the dining room table. He and Millie, my kittie, have absolutely no use for one another....

Thankful Thursdays…Why We’re Here This Easter we had most of the family with us. Last count was 31 (I think)   When we moved back to Houston in 2019 it was because it was time. We had our Florida fun in the sun for about 30 years however Larry and I felt the need to be closer to our families. Casa Streib has become the dining hub for most holiday and family dinners. I don’t mind because I enjoy entertaining and cooking.  When my cousin thanked us for hosting our family gatherings, I said…“It’s why we moved back!” And I meant it. I am grateful for growing up in a large family where everyone was comfortable talking at the same time.  And by family…it was all-encompassing.  If you had dinner with us just once, you became part of the family.                                     ( new dad and...

Exercise often helps improve brain function. If you've ever wanted to just walk around, or even walk away from, a problem, National Walk Around Things Day on April 4 could be just the celebration for you. Rather than avoid problems, April 4 can be a time used to purposefully “walk around” while pondering potential painful situations.  Another way to celebrate this day is to simply walk around things or places one loves-such as a neighborhood, park,  or even a favorite vacation place, such as my favorite place-Waikiki Beach (pictured)! Thanks for reading "April 4 is Walking Around Things Day".

Sometimes it's pretty easy for me to spot our family life in Timmothy's cartoons and I'm pretty sure this one is about me. I have no doubt that Timmothy is wondering what happened to my high level of energy.Between a year of dealing with sciatic pain that required spinal injections and then a fall that destroyed my rotator cuff to a point that the surgeon could not fix I have been in a lot of pain. I have been trying to survive on one pain killer a day and a lot of sleep. I'm tired of it so now I am taking the pain pills as prescribed and I'm doing much better but as Titus says "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired".
