The “bottom” of the market seems like it just passed us by. The phones are busier; people are looking for property (and bargains), and the overall attitude of buyers has been getting somewhat positive. Team Rondello has four closings set for the month of May, with several new listings being added at competitive prices. Our outlook is positive, though we have a long way to go to catch up to the heydays of 2005 – 2006. Mortgage rates are very attractive, and selection remains strong. Business and commercial property remains the exception; buyers and mortgage money are both super-scarce. As of this writing, 2009 activity in the two counties we serve has started to improve over what we were seeing last year, and that’s the first time I’ve been able to report that in two years. 05/05/2009

    Labor Day 2008 has come and gone; one of the warmest and sunniest on record. Simply gorgeous weather for those who came for the final summer hurrah to the Northwoods. Sales figures through August 2008 are now in hand for our Minocqua office. The year-to-date results are the softest we’ve seen in many years. Our record sales year of 2005 was 69% stronger than this year, as we’ve had a total volume of just $29.56 million so far in 2008. For comparison, 2005 volume through August was $94.26 million. Recent accepted contracts have had a tough time getting to closing, with several lenders being more reluctant to lend on recreational and waterfront property than in years past. Three pending closings with Team Rondello are stalled over lender issues as of this date, which is unprecedented.... 09/03/2008

The pair were heading to the DOT regional office in Rhinelander to deliver the committee’s DOT Transportation Enhancement Grant application for a planned 3.5 mile expansion of the Boulder Area Trail System. There is a large percentage of these phantom "ghost deer" in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin. Someone recently checked to see how prevalent the albino whitetail deer were. (He had taken a photo with 4 white deer in the same picture) The source he checked with said that the odds of that being able to happen were over a million-to-one.Boulder Junction has long been famous for it's heard of white deer. I have photos with four yearling albino playing in a jack pine stand a mile from my home.This photo was taken in my driveway. The albino was watching our cat, "Stella", and had no worries about me as I was taking photos within 20'. The "regular" brown deer were not so sure. It was an interesting fall evening, and made for some excellent shots.   04/10/2008
