I went to lunch with some of my coworkers to celebrate my birthday today. I had been trying to figure out where I wanted to go to lunch for the past few days - figuring out details such as the party size down to when we were all leaving. Last-minute reservations aren't easy, but that's just how I roll and it all works out in the end.Zillow Tower is located in Downtown Seattle right next to the Seattle Art Museum. Needless to say, there are several great dining options around. I've been working in Zillow's HQ for nearly two years now and have eaten at almost every worthwhile restaurant within a three block radius. Although I wanted to try something new, I settled with an old classic: Von's 1000Spirits Gustobistro on 1st Ave, just around the corner. I have been to this restaurant numerous...

Power of Niche Marketing Have you ever gone to your family doctor only to be referred to a specialist who treated only patients with our exact ailment? Were you then surprised when you showed up at the specialist's office to find a packed waiting room? This happened to me a couple of years ago when I went to the dentist and I discovered I needed a root canal. I naturally assumed my dentist would just book an appointment to take care of it, but my dentist informed me that she doesn't do root canals. She wanted to send me to her root canal expert instead. I thought this was a little strange but when I asked her why she didn't just handle root canals she said it was in her client's best interest to work with someone who was the expert on this procedure. So off I went to the root canal den...

Most have seen the headlines such as “Seattle Rents Now Growing Faster Than in Any Other U.S. City” discussing the ever increasing rents in Seattle.  While this news has been true in recent memory (meaning last year and earlier this year), the Seattle rental market has seen some signs of relief for tenants. For example, Rent Jungle shows the average apartment rent over the prior 6 months in Seattle has actually decreased by $13 (-0.6%). When looking at the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, the number of rented homes and the average rent in King County has decreased in the most recent calendar month. In November 2015 there was 228 rentals which leased for an average of $2,644 per month while in November 2016 there were 214 rentals which leased for an average of $2,598 per month. The mo...

Current listings for sale in Victory Heights  Northeast Seattle Real Estate Market Snapshot  Real estate inventory in September 2016 in Northeast Seattle slipped 2.3% from the previous month.   While the close sales increased 13%, pending sales are down in the area that incorporates Victory Heights, Olympic Hills, Pinehurst and Cedar Park. The real story continues to be the shortage of listings and more active buyers wanting to live closer to employment centers and community transportation. For more detailed information regarding Northeast Seattle or other Seattle marketplaces contact Adrian Willanger-Broker Coldwell Banker @ 206 909-7536 or Adrian@AdrianWillanger.com.
