Pullman Washington, home of Washington State University, has been my home now for many years.  I love the small, friendly hometown feel of our great community.  And I love helping relocating clients to explore our corner on the border of Washington and Idaho.  We are uniquely situated.  Spokane Washington is only about 1 1/2 hours to the North.  I personally love taking a quick trip up to Spokane and go often as I did on Tuesday.  We also have so many great outdoor escapes nearby.  If you want to take a quick hike you might try lovely Kamiak Butte.  It is only about 20 minutes North and provides fantastic views of the rolling hills of the Palouse and is a favorite for those new to Pullman.  Moscow Idaho, home of the University of Idaho, is only 15 minutes east of us, has great shopping ...

I took these pictures from my back deck yesterday evening and I thought...this is Pullman at it's best!  I love the fact that I see Sunnyside Park in the background and there is wheat being harvested pretty much in our backyard.  My dog is barking, my daughter is looking from inside our home and I am in awe as this huge piece of machinery is working its magic! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed the scenery!

We all know first impressions are important.  They are your first impulse as to your overall feeling about a given thing.  As a Realtor® here in Pullman Washington, I often receive calls asking for information about a particular house, or a general question about Pullman from someone thinking of relocating to our part of the State of Washington. No doubt behind their questions there is a desire to find out information about our market in Pullman or a particular house, but there is also often the concept of first impressions.  They are deciding if they feel comfortable working with me.  And I applaud that!  You are hiring a Realtor® and you should feel comfortable about their knowledge, their availability to answer your questions... and for many clients the are looking to find a Right...

Tucked into the rolling hills of this area of the country known as the Palouse is Pullman Washington.  Pullman has been my home for many years now. I moved here in 1992 following many years of commuting from Lewiston & Clarkston, a nearby community.    My roots are strong in this great city.   I have raised my family here and my family has two businesses in this town, both located in the heart of the Washington State University.  I am a Realtor specializing in relocation and residential real estate.  That is my history.   Pullman's history is, of course, much longer.  Pullman was founded in 1888 by a group of early settlers.  In fact our first 4th of July celebration that we celebrate to this day all began in 1881 when George Pullman for which our town is named gave the first $50 towar...

As many of my clients know, this Nana has been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Sophia.   She is one of many babies born this week in Pullman Washington.  Pullman Memorial Hospital has been bursting at the seams according to the nurses there the last few weeks.  She is home now...and no doubt those few empty birthing rooms will be quickly filled by new Mom's.  The birthing suites they have are most impressive!     As a Realtor® in Pullman, the market continues to be quite active....thus so am I.  The world didn't stop when this little bundle of joy came on the scene.    Thank goodness for my iphone...not only could I snap some pictures of my little one...but I was still in communication with several of my clients and headed out in the afternoon to check on a listing, show and meet wit...

Today was the most amazing and precious day of my life.  Today I experienced the most wonderful event of my life as I witnessed my son walking down the hall with his new born baby girl.  I have been going from elation to tears of joy.     May I introduce you to my Grand Daughter, Sophia Ann who was born at a bit before 3 AM today.  I wanted to share her with my family on Active Rain and my friends and clients who have all been eagerly awaiting her delivery.    Both Mom and Baby are fine....and Nanna....well she will never be the same!  I tell you what, it really puts everything into focus and perspective that I can't put into words. Imagine that....me at a loss for words!

Today was a crazy day....crazy good.  The day was packed full of contracts and showings and put in a pretty full day.  It is 9 at night and I just had a couple slices of pizza and still have wash to get going.   And the next few days are also looking pretty full.  And as many of my clients know...today is the due date for my daughter-in-law.  We are all with baited breath waiting for the newest member of our family, and my first grand baby, to arrive.  To say, we are excited is an understatement.  What an amazing miracle the birth of child is....any child....and even more so when it is a new member of your family.  I keep waiting for that phone call....I have a feeling that we might have some very eventful and long days ahead. :) In the meantime, I would like to post a picture of my Che...

It's that time of year again!  I love it!  Children looking forward to finding out who their teachers are, going shopping with Mom or Dad to get School Supplies and wondering what friends are in their class.  The anticipation shows on their faces.  It's an exciting time of year!  It makes me remember when I was in school.  I couldn't wait to get going after a long, and lazy Summer rest.  And now, my daughter is counting the days until Friday when she learns who her teacher will be....   The big day is August 25th for the Pullman School District!  It is the day the kids return to a daily schedule of academics, social time with friends and playground recess.  It's a nice time for parents too as we know they are having fun, and keeping busy with the activities that are the School norm.  Sc...

In Pullman Washington, we are not use to temperatures above 90 very often.  Many of our homes in more established neighborhoods don't have air conditioning.  I grew up in Lewiston~ Clarkston where air conditioning was a necessity. Here the temperatures cool off to a lovely 50 degrees not long after the sun goes down.  So I love the fresh air and cool breezes in the evening and sleep best that way. But today was uncomfortably hot for us in Pullman, and for many in Washington and Oregon with this heat wave. Tomorrow is expected to hit 94 degrees. That is just too darn hot....at least for me.   Sooo....in my feeble way to cool off this evening....I had to pull up a picture I had taken in my back yard 2 winters ago!  I sure didn't enjoy that snow much then...but it sure looks absolutel...

Pullman is on the verge of nearly doubling in size this week!  Washington State University is about to start its fall session for 2010.  It is always an amazing transformation for sure. From the third week of July till about the second week of August, Pullman is always very quiet.  It is the time when Summer Session is over and most of our residents take their summer vacations.  I have been surprised to see how busy I have been in our  Real Estate Market here in Pullman during this quiet time. The Seniors are now back getting their houses ready for Rush at WSU. The streets go from bare to jam packed.  It is a time honored tradition and full of lots of fun and energy as new recruits go from house to house finishing the week with pledging.  And many will go downtown Friday evening for th...

It was a glorious weekend with the warm sun shining and the Summer breeze blowing across the field....Soccer Field that is!  I sat in a lawn chair and watched my nine year old daughter play...hard against boys that were almost two years older.  This was her first Soccer Tournament, Palouse Cup, and I was one proud mama! I loved seeing her be tough and play hard.  I loved seeing her smile at the end of the games and laugh before the games.  I enjoyed watching the camarederie with her teammates all of them boys in the last two games.  It was fantastic!  It was a great weekend for her to learn about teamwork, support, and fun!  I look forward to the next tournament!  Go my little Soccer Star!

Has the market slowed down in Pullman Washington?  I don't think so.  I know I have been very busy.  And I see other Realtors® also working and that is great news for our real estate market in Pullman. Today was a full one for sure.  I had to run to Lewiston which is about 45 minutes south to pick up some supplies for our family business.  My husband and son own a hair salon on the campus of WSU.  All the while I was fielding client phone calls...hands free of course!  That is the law in Washington State!   I returned in time for showing a new client some homes.  It was great!  He is a smart new buyer and I enjoyed showing him a few really great homes.  That is always one of the parts of my profession I enjoy the most! After that I worked on some contracts late...and when I came out of ...

In Pullman we are on the verge of the students returning to Fall Session here at Washington State University. Many of the businesses, Fraternities and Sororities are all getting ready for the onslaught of returning students and faculty. Campus is still pretty bare, but lots of workman are madly trying to beat the clock.  One of the jobs I have enjoyed is watching the skill of the masonry as he restored a nearby building.  Over the course of the summer, I have watched him bring that beautiful brick back to life.  First, he painstakingly cleaned the brick bringing back a vibrancy that I had never seen in the building.  Then he careful went in and re-pointed the entire structure.  On Sunday I saw him swaying high in the air on a platform as he rebuilt the chimney.  Before you know it th...
