Silent Sunday, Tell a Tale of Tulips Game   Last week while visiting the show gardens of RoozenGaarde in the Skagit Valley, about 90 minutes from Sammamish, we noticed the great names of many of the flowers.  In my Wordless Wednesday Tulips 2013 post, I highlighted many groups of flowers throughout the grounds.  I will focus on individual Tulips in this post and I have a challenge for you.  Can you tell a brief story using some or all of the names of flowers below?  It could be fun.   Here are several tulips in alphabetical order. Aperitif Ballerina Barcelona Cash Double Price Fabio Kung Fu Magic Price Money Maker Outbreak Princess Irene Purple Dream Queen of the Night Seattle So, can you tell a brief story using the names of these Tulips?  I look forward to your creative results and wi...

Wordless Wednesday, Tulips 2013 Yesterday was our day to take in the tulips of the Skagit Valley.  I’ve heard that outside of Holland, the Skagit Valley produces more Tulip bulbs than anywhere else in the world.   We visited the display gardens of RoozenGaarde this year.  My pictures below do not do them justice. The Tulip Festival runs through April every year. To see a few more, see my next post, Silent Sunday, Tell a Tale of Tulips.

Wordless Wednesday, Packing to Move, Don't Hire These Packers.   Alpacas are primarily bread for wool, while their cousins the Llama are used as pack animals.  These guys probably have done very little hauling in their life.  I took their picture outside of La Conner WA recently while visiting the Tulip Festival.

Silent Sunday, Is This a Hobbit House?   While visiting the Tulip Fields in La Conner WA recently we saw this garden shed and thought it looked interesting.  Do you think it looks like a Hobbit House?  Can you imagine Bilbo or Frodo Baggins coming out for a walk in the gardens?

Silent Sunday, Acres of Daffodils in La Conner WA                              The annual Tulip Festival runs April 1-30 this year, but a warm wet winter has lots of flowers coming up early.  The Roozengaarde display gardens were alive with hyacinth which filled the air with their incredible aroma.  If you are planning a trip in 2010, come early as I believe the Tulips blooms will peak early.

Wordless Wednesday, It's Winter Now, But Spring's Coming!   La Conner Washington is about 90 minutes north of Sammamish, an easy drive most days.  For 2010 the Annual Tulip Festival   is April 1-April 30th.  The best time to see this event changes every year, these pictures were taken in March.  With our warmer than usual winter I imagine 2010 may be an early year too.

There are lot of events going on in La Conner these days.  The Smithsonian Exhibit EXPLORING AMERICA'S FOOD TRADITIONS runs through January 4 and so far the reviews have been great! If you happen to go to La Conner, you might see some strange pedistains walking about town.   The first La Conner turkeys, a male & female, chose La Conner as their home in spring of 2004.  Eight chicks appeared the next spring, and by Thanksgiving of 2005, the mayor of La Conner declared them the official town mascot, and the rest is history!!  www.AnacortesHomeTeam.com www.AnacortesRealEstateBlog.com www.CBIslandLiving.comwww.AnacortesHomesBlog.comwww.AnacortesHomeTeam.com Coldwell Banker Island Living

The La Conner Real Estate Market Shows Good Sales For September The La Conner Real Estate Market Shows Good Sales For September   Something good to report on La Conner Homes for Sale!!!!!!!! There were six La Conner Homes sold in Sept. 2008 vs. eight in Sept. 2007.  The La Conner Housing Market is small so just a couple of sales can throw the statistics way off. Most of La Conner Home sales are made up of Shelter Bay.  This year there were 6 sales in Shelter Bay in Sept. vs. 5 last year.  The average days on market this year was 92 for Sept. vs. 83 days on market for Sept. last year...much better than most of the real estate world! We are experiencing a nice rally right now as buyers that are pre-qualified are hurrying to buy before they loose their lock.  Although this is not a market ...
