So great to see long time friends this past Friday morning for the 2nd South Puget Sound Activerain Meetup... I've known everyone in the group for 10+ years now. How'd that happen? It's so fun to gather around a table over a great breakfast and catch up on life, business, the market, blogging, social media, and what's going on in the neighborhood. Activerain Meetup, Johnny's at Fife, August 14, 2014. Thursday morning was the last and not least of my Activerain Meetup tour. What a fun week it has been. I was so happy when Paul Henderson took me up on an offer to co-host a south end Meetup. Charlie Buell and I always invite our South Sounders to every Seattle Meetup, but if you know this area the drive up from Olympia and Tacoma on a weekday morning at commute time to Seattle can be a brutal affair.  We met at Johnny’s at Fife just off Interstate 5 a couple of miles from downtown Tacoma. This was a great location and we had a large banquet room all to ourselves. Thanks Paul, excellent choice! And many thanks to the gals at Johnny's that took care of us. They were a lot of fun. I was early to arrive yesterday to Johnny's at Fife for the Activerain Meetup and I had the banquet room to myself for a few minutes. As I turned towards the wall at the end of the tables I saw this one checking me out.   There were several fish in the tank and most of them headed for the back behind the rocks and plants. But this one wasn't shy at all. I snapped a few photos and didn't think about it until last night. To my surprize the light and reflections through water and glass (no special effects) created this rather fun unintended compositional accident. 08/15/2014

South Sound's first Activerain Meetup! I was so excited when Paul Henderson took me up on an offer I made back in March. The invitation is always open to our Activerain friends in the South Sound to join us at the Seattle Meetup. I have visiting The Warthog since 2009 and have always had great food. I tried their smoked Prime Rib last weekend and my mouth is still watering from the fantastic flavor. (The also have the best french fries but ask for them to be Crisp (Dick Lynch style)... I have only had smoked Prime Rib  one other time (in Florida) and I vowed never ever to try it again. Well I have begun to trust the fine folks at the Warthog and my trust paid off. I have tried many different BBQ meals at the Warthog and have never been disappointed. Saddle Creek Easter Egg Hunt   The Saddle Creek residents 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt is this Saturday, March 30th at 11am.  The hunt will be held in the park. Be sure to be there early as it will start promptly at 11am. Children aged 5 and under will go first. Followed by those aged 6-10 years old. Each child will need to bring their own basket to collect eggs in.  After the Egg Hunt, there will be a Potato Sack Race and a Tug-O-War game - both open to those of all ages.  If you'd like to help the social committee with hiding the eggs, please be at the park by 10:30am.  The Saddle Creek Easter Egg Hunt is a great way to meet your neighbors! The original list price was $200,489. The houses were on the market for an average of 52 days before they received a contract. One was on the market 206 days; Four sold within a week of being listed. The sellers received 100.44% of asking price. Average price per square foot was $98.69. The houses were built between 1976 and 2012.     There are 11 Fife homes that went under contract in October.
