It's been awhile since I've worked on my blog, but I am back!To give an update...Lately I've been very active on my Yahoogroups site and have learned a lot about just the way things are done in a semi-public profile.I am glad to say that I have been invited to apply for an appointment on the Sudden Valley Community Association Board, and have done so happily. It was my intent to get active and involved in my community on the grander scale and no doubt my efforts have awarded me the confidence of the Community Association to hopefully represent the Valley. We'll see on Monday Night where that interview process takes me! Stay tuned...James

Bellingham made it in the top 100 places to live as rated by the website relocate-america.com they claim to be "the only list that is determined by statistics and feedback of the people who live, work & play in these communities."Most people in Bellingham think it is a great place to live, and I am sure more would have voted if they knew this poll exixted. Then there are those who are tired of seeing their city getting all this great publicity as they fear it is part of the reason for Bellingham's rapid growth and increase in Real Estate values which they would rather see slow down.Any opinions always welcome to be heard here.

Looks like home prices crept up a bit last month as compared to condo prices sliding a bit. A reversal of what happened in February. The housing prices here in the Northwest and Bellingham in particular keep creeping higher as compared to the national average of the market decreasing. Looking forward to seeing what happens in the months to come.

Lenders, mortgage brokers and others can now order appraisal reports online from my website. What are the advantages of online ordering? It saves time. Where before we would have had to rekey all the property and assignment information from your fax or e-mail, with online ordering we can simply import the property details into our report preparation software. With over 1500 homes for sale in Whatcom County, the market has definitely changed. A home that could sell in just 3 weeks can now be expected to sell no sooner than 6 months. Will the home market ever change back?

I have many clients come to me and say that they only want bank owned properties. Each time I look up bank owned properties I find that there are better homes for the price on the regular market. Of course, from day to day this can change, but it is important to know that buyers are limiting themselves if they are only looking for bank owned properties. This may not be the best investment.

While I am new to ActiveRain, I have been enjoying my local town of Bellingham Washington. We are usually prepared to get about three days of snow each year and it rarely comes before January. At this time (the end of November) we have been hit with so much snow that the school district ended up canceling the kids school for a whole week. Now you must understand that a little city like ours that only gets three days of snow a year is not usually prepared with all of the snow plow equiptment. We get stuck alot easier than those on the east coast. I live in a very community oriented neighborhood and the snow brought all of the people out of their houses. As we walked to the local parks with our children being pulled on our sled, we checked on the older neighbors to see if they needed anyt...
